is it easy to put on a 41t sprocket on the atomik motox...

thanks for all the replies to my other questions... i'm buying a motox for my kid and i just want to upgrade it a little.. i thought the 32mm pro circuit pipe and a 41t sprocket would do ,, as well as heavy duty pegs....

junior is 9 years old... already riding on old 50 like a pro.. want to get him racing..... any help on the motox upgrade for power would be appreciated.. cheers .. :)

yea its quite easy, just get the right stud pattern and chain size and ur already half way there, i think you should go down to atleast 34t sprocket if you can find it... if ur going to get heavy duty pegs u should get the bar aswell.. because they are more likely bending then braking the pegs

the combination of the 17 front and 37 rear sprockets seem to be quite good, by going from the 14 front to the 17 does allow better use of first gear. the pro circut pipes are good but not cheap, also it is worth the money if you fit a 25 or 26 mm genuine mikuni carby fitted with a 105 main jet plus set the main slide needle to the highest setting [ richest ]

hay mate, i have posted this image on the forums before but it helps explain what your looking for when your upgrading your rear sproket.

this is the stud pattern and the main hole sizes which you will need so you get the correct sproket.

now with regards to upgrades a port polish job will do wonders for a china bike which doesnt pay SPECIAL attention to the EXACT measurments of your manifold, intake etc... if this is done and you still feel the need for some more power you can look into a pipe, a t-i pro circut pipe will give the motor a little more breathe and make her run a little nicer. if you still feel the need for more and your son is willing to go to the 125 mod class for racing then you can move to High Compression pistons, Inner Rotor Kits, Race Cams etc etc....

Hope this has given you more of an idea with regard to upgrades.

Cheers, Tony.

P.S: i find the best combonation for top end and torque is the 17 - 37 Sproket combo, if your looking for acceleration and still a nice top end go to 16 - 41. hope this helps. Cheers..

for memory the standard front sprocket is a 16 and rear 43. Fairly good combo for tight moto tracks and mucking around.
