just got my new DHZ 140 and the stock front and rear suspension blows. whats the best mid price upgrades available? i hear fastace is pretty popular?

also, are the kitaco CLONE IRK kits as good as the real deal?

i have this bike also with mods

fastace rear no res shock with preload
going the aso3 fastace front fork
billet tripple tree adjustable risers
billet kick start
protapers
irc rear tyre
inner rotor kit
polished manifold

looks good a rides a whole heap better but need thos forks to make her sweet

Hey Snitchy i am pretty sure i'll buy that bike... so are you saying the suspension is no good straight away?

Should i get some use out of them or change them up 1st thing?

Thanks dude.

we have the similar model and the forks are ok but not the best, just use them, or rebuild them until you can save up for a decent front end

yes stumbows its a top bike we have 2 of them zac runs his straight out tha box suspension is ok for him as he's on about 60 kg

i found the rear was way to bouncey for me as i needed preload

front forks are ok but need oil changed but for zac they seem fine

zacs bike only has bars and tyres done and he loves it

he can easy keep up with me coz he has less weight
but all in all mate for the buck u cant beat them just need a few mods as you can afford them but out the box for the price there the best iv seen

pittin neither bike i have ridden but i have seen both bikes

in my opinion there all the same just a few different mods hence the difference in price

all in all there the same bike made in the same place with just different sellers requirement's

thats about it

but kens back up is tip top i hear only good storys about him

yeh well im about 100kg and i do some pretty hefty jumping so the stock really sucks.

also, whats wrong with the stock tyres. i havent had any trouble yet?

there rubbish you obviosly dont go hard into corners mate as they suck dude lol

we changed ours ot right arfter i smoked em up on a cement pad at out trck

those tyres are that bad i could pull them off with my hands they are like rubber bands lol

sounds pretty sketchy... i liked the look of the tyres cause i wanted something less aggressive and more "trials" type tyre so that i could ride multi surface.

i hace the dhz 140cc it has the 12 pound fastace adjustable rear shock witch is great and costs around $150 still have to change the front forks.also has kenda tyres, red barron bars and a 30mm exhaust.

Yeah the rear tyres need replacing if you ride hard .... they're half bald as new ... LOL ...... Take a good look at speedway bikes ..... they deliberately use a trials type rear tyre so they'll lose traction (for precise traction control) and hang sideways in corners ......... and to make up for it they run NO rear suspension so that the rider can transfer their weight to the rear to boost traction on the straights ..... they have so much power that they NEED the wheelspin to allow the rider to be able to control the bike under full throttle race conditions but for a pit bike you want full traction ....... or you go slower .. LOL ....

What I did with my DHZ bikes is replace the suspension with Fast Ace rear , AS-02 forks , and Carlsbad tyres before riding ..... that way the stock parts are kept as spares or new for resale to take the sting out of the cost of the new upgrade parts . For my consecutive bikes I went the other way and bought them in parts to end up with bikes that have only all the best bits that I was happy with .....

What I've read on various forums and verified thru emailing sellers is that the AS-03's aren't too good compared to AS-02's .........

hmmm very intersesting jack

was going to go the aso3 fork but since u said that i may look into it a lil more

i dont mind spending the coin but i want something that will stand up

i have read a few things on forks and am more cofuszzled now than b4 i started lol

i may need to pick your brain jack when i look at getting a new front end for my pitty

Ahh you seem to think that i want grip? haha umm i kinda am wanting a smoother surface for riding car parks and then a little bit of nobby so i can still get some bit of traction in the dirt.

the new 1000lb dnm adjustable rear shock is the way 2 go over the fast ace,
but the fast ace front shocks are better then the dnm front shocks!
have a look at the new ciniworx bikes and the mso,
mso and dnm run the dnm's,
if u call ciniworx he will explain y the fast ace front is better, i think he runs then on the ciniworx bikes, not 2 sure atm.
but yer,, thatz the way 2 go in my book mate!
cheers,
Ryan

First quote ...right on...;)

Second....WHAT???...you ever rode a DNM Fork?? they are equal to Zokes, no doubt!!

i agree to that, they are so much better than the fastace-02 that they dont even compare

They might be a bit better than Fast Ace but what are the respective costs of the DNM rear shock and forks ??????? Most people just want something that's far better than the stock suspension at a reasonable cost - they aren't going to race over rough , rutty MX courses or be jumping buses . I bought my Fast Ace stuff well before DNM gained a decent name ....... and the earlier DNM shocks had bad reports of blowing seals etc

Here's an interesting Mini Riders link .... Mack says "DNM" but buys AS-02's ????????

Yes the DNM forks are a better fork with better spec internals and design, so should be the better fork...but the fastace AS02 I know the tricks for and they can be easily tweaked to perform perfectly well for less money. Once I find the the lowest cost for the performance I want thats where I settle. It doesn't change the fact that the other is better though. If I needed to build a bike for someone who needed the extra performance then I would go better. For shocks though I have settled with DNM. I have tested most of their range and they are a great shock maker IMO.

Some trivia....DNM are the OEM manufacturer for a very well known top aftermarket shock name also....
