Ok, so I'm a new guy with these chinese motors and this forum......and.....as it turns out, I already posted this question in the Chinese bike section. I realize now that I probably should have posted it here (I'll go back and delete it). Anyway, I just bought a fairly un-used Sikk Trail Bike (sweet bike!) that has a 125cc chinese motor in it. I was going to install an oil cooler in it last week. Noticed that the OE side head plate has a boss on the inside with a steel tube pressed in it. I believe this is to ensure that the camshaft gets filled with oil and lubes the cam lobes while it's spinning. The plate that came with the oil cooler kit (e-bay special) does not have this boss and pressed-in tube. Looks to me like the oil will mostly drain down the side of the camshaft around the bearing instead of getting into the camshaft and lubing the cam. Anyone know if this is an obvious issue for reliability and cam wear? I guess that this engine would be called a "short camshaft" model. I'm almost thinking that I'll machine up a teflon spacer (with the appropriate holes in it) to replace the boss on the plate? Anyone got any knowedge on this issue? thanks much..........

thats pretty much how all oil adapter plates are... have never heard anyone complaining about oil/camshaft problems..
