little strapped for cash lately and tubes is doin it pretty cheap so im goin with that
 
the flatslide carbys have a flat slide its as simple as that which have less resistance and turbanlance than the round slide carbys, however from what i have read and observed the good genuine carbs dont have much difference depending on the slides
 
i've owned bikes with flat slides and the throttle respones is alot more crisp
