Are these new engines reliable or are they still having the same troubles they did with the 155z etc, and ate the a whole new engine or ate they just A 155z bored out? And do they really make 20hp?

I had a ride on Rach's last ride day... They have a nice bottom end suited to dirt work but the top end seemed a little lackluster (at least with the carb Rach is running, an OKO or similar might open it up nicely).

Personally I think my YX150 with 26mm OKO pulled harder down the straights, but it's all top end which makes it a lot snottier to ride in the dirt.

If anyone gets an OKO or large round slide on one I'd be very interested to hear if it opens up the top end much :)

Surely people will start modding these as they become more common. I think at the moment people are happier sticking to the tried and tested, bore kit + V2 head fitted to a YX160/155Z...

Ive got a genuine Keihin PE28mm for sale if anyone wants one.

interesting about the comparison of the two motors pete. make sure you get the torque figures as well as they maybe the interesting part.

20 hp not a wonton in china will they make that , 16 maybe ,

how much for the carb grnman

why not put the v2 and decent carb on the 175? my 175 runs well with 28 oko. heaps more power across the range than the yx 160 i was running.

Can you get a pison to take the lager V2 valves?? I dont think you can. So it defeats the purpose. May aswell put a bore kit on a 160.

I haven't seen one off the shelf for 63mm , that will bolt on with the v2 head..

Can just get someone to open the reliefs in the piston ..

Don't know how different they are but i love the 175's gear box, Thinking about putting 160 barrel/head/toys onto the 175 and see what she goes like.

im 99% certain that the gearboxs are the same as the earlier z155 engines..

still need properly shimming too if you want them to last..

It's just a regular Z155 with a $17 Alibaba 63mm piston kit. 171.44cc
No way on Earth they make over 16-17HP.

Yep, you can def get a piston to suit the V2 on a 175.

Not without notch work. The discontinued 63mm TB piston won't clear.

Nah, the old pre-HO has the low noodle-delivery first. The HO has a few closer gears. Still a ton of shift drum end play, along with trans. Same wobbly clutch basket, too.

May as well just get the 155, buy a $179 TB 64mm kit that comes with correct V2 notches, and plop it on. Then a head swap later is easy. 176.94cc. Still won't make 20HP, even with a V2 unless ported, and a 32mm carb, correct (custom) pipe.
