Hi,

I am been looking over the recent Lifan Conversions and am wondering if anyone has done a 155Z Conversion?

I am looking at purchasing this engine off a mate, same as what is pictured in the ad.

NEW PITSTERPRO 155Z CRATE RACE ENGINE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT - eBay Other Makes, Bike Parts, Motorcycle Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 13-Apr-10 10:33:27 AEST)

Now I want to run it in a 12V Ct110

So far I realize I will need

Engine Mount adapters
REAR_MOTOR_MOUNT ADAPTOR_KIT CHINA_ENGINES 50cc_to_150cc TO_CT90/CT110 (BCI123000)

and
Foot Peg Adapters
FOOTPEG_ADAPTOR CT90/CT110_HONDA TO LIFAN_ZONGSHEN ALL_CHINA_ENGINES 50CC_THRU_150CC (BC5000)

The motor also comes with
1. Oil cooler, lines and mounting bracket.
2. Gear Shifter, Kick Start Lever
3. Outer Rotor Ignition with wiring harness, ignition coil and CDI box
4. 15/420 Counter shaft sprocket
5. 26mm Carb Kit

Now, I was wondering what other items I will need for this conversion and what problems will I face?

Will I be able to still run my lights and Horn?

How would It go with Registering it in Qld?

Is this motor suitable or would you recommend something else?

Thanks, Chris

G'day Chris.

I've got a 140cc Lifan CT110 which I'm very happy with. It goes well and is great fun to commute on.

I've got 4 registered bikes and I choose that to go to work on most days. Comfortable, makes a bit of noise, quick and fits through the smallest of gaps.

It depends what you want it for; there's nothing wrong with standard. I have a 'standard' one (engine that is) which is great for long distance riding.

Mine's registered as a 140, same rego cost as the 110.

Can still use lights and horn.

Looks like you're pretty well organised.

There's threads on this site about the Lifan 110 and 150 in Posties - have a search.

Cheers,

Rob.

Just worried about the electrics and the charging system, as I have read a 140cc is fine, but there is a bit of trouble with the Bigger cc models and the rotors?

Btw,

What was required to pass a RWC?
Did you make your own adaptors?

155z with the outer rotor should power ya lights...i think theres a thread on here saying something about running the lights directly from the rotor and everything else from the battery

but heres a postie i snapped a pic off the other week at my mates bike shop

nice postie but doesn't look as good in yellow mabie a bionic blue
i sprayed 1 the other week pink only 1 i have ever hadd
but remember red goes faster
and you can run lights straight off the rotor
but donno about horn ?

yeah theres a guy tht runs motard at lakeside with a pink postie lol, but its spose to be a cracka

that would be Lindsey with the pink posty. It sure is a cracker the motor is a home built hybrid honda/yx

Tina

yeah Lindsay and Joe sure went to town on that engine..
but i wouldn't class it as home built... Joe knows he stuff and has his own machine shop, lol mainly used for personal hobby sht..but does machining for others too..

he used to be the head guru mechanic for redcliffe Honda and no doubt other shops too

Can anyone provide me with more details of that Yellow Postie Bike.

What gearing?
155z Engine?
Throttle Setup?
What adapters were used?
Chain Size?
Rear Gearing?
Has it been Rego'd?

Thanks, Chris

Btw, Im a looking at a 160cc Lifan Converted Postie Bike with only 2 tanks done, do you guys reckon it is worth $1500 with all the original bits? (18hp)

(Sorry for the multiply questions)

the yellow postie is only a yx140
im pretty sure throttle assembly is a standard postie one
im not sure if he made the adapter kit himself or bought it from the place you linked in the first post..but one thing i dont like about it is the angle the engine is now on.

pretty sure the chain is a 420.
i have no idea wat sprockets its running or if its rego'ed

also there is no such thing as a 160cc lifan engine unless someone has put a 60mm big bore kit on it.
but i couldnt see why it wouldnt be worth 1500 if it was in really good condition

Lots of questions redracer!

Mine is registered, nothing special needs to be done at rego. Gets looked at, usual checks then a tick in the box.

18hp would make a quick postie. If the motor is in good nick, good rego and registered with that engine it sounds at the top end of fair.

a couple of questions about lindseys pink postie.

Disc brakes? nice. how was this done ? did he just put on xr100 forks and wheel ?

What tyres is he running ? they look sticky and i have the only tyres that my local bike store would sell me.

Thanks guys.

the pink postie has postie front forks china rear calliper big wheel china front wheel all available at small wheel deals shinko rear tyre bridgestone front (big road bike tyres ) it is wild as to ride 177cc hybrid
