Hello all, I'm a newbie located in the United States. I've been looking at the Roketa (Hummer?) VX250, I'm also looking at the Apollo Orion 250cc AGB30. I know these aren't considered mini's but my question is more in general, which brand is better? Both bikes have Zongshen engines, which are probably identical. How are the frames and components? Any particular problems? Thanks

from all that i have heard and read about these 2 bikes the hummer is the way to go, there are a few people on here that own the hummers and have said nothing but good things. also watch which ones you purchase as there is a few versions which exist in the market. hopefully someone with more knowledge on the hummers will come to your aid.

check this thread out and it should help you out a little more.

Cheers, Tony.

if your looking at the agb 30 with the big wheels (19 -16) then yes its a very nice bit of gear for the money, I'd prolly roll with it. The problem with both bikes are that various importers fit cheaper and cheaper parts on them to make a bigger profit margin. Do your homework to determine which seller has best bike for the money.

How about the weight, does anybody know if one weighs significantly more than the other? I have found 89kg for the AGB30 and about 105kg for the Hummer.

I was told to check out where the swing arm mounts, are there bushings there? And the plastic "rub strip" for the chain, is it good plastic? I hear some really cheap bikes cheap out in these areas.

The prices I found were $1300USD- Roketa/Hummer (19"/16" rims) and $1200USD for the AGB30 (17"/14" rims). Too me the AGB30 looks nicer and with the smaller rims is just about the same size as my old Honda 1986 CR80. I was hoping it could *almost* keep up with that little beast. :)

BTW, I'm really surprised the Chinese haven't done more two strokes. Two stroke engines (air cooled vs air cooled) have to be cheaper to build...

I'm looking at used Japanese bikes too, but pickings are slim in my area. If I bought one for a good price I might have to drive a couple hundred miles to pick it up.

Thanks everybody!

I had a guy weigh an AGB31 (I think this is the designation for the 250cc model). He got 225.1lbs or about 102kg. This model comes with full size tires 19"front/16" rear. I hope you guys still let me hang out if I get it.

alott off the bushes amd the other rubber peaces are made out off shit! so replacing them with good quality stuff happens with even good bikes! but they do take alot longer to wear dont they...
