Most of you guy's by now would have seen my bike, which still remains un-identified, and obviously is not much of a quality bike.

The suggestions were of course the obvious, sell it, and buy something better. I'm not in a position right now to do that so i have come up with a bit of a plan, and i thought i would run it by your guy's and see what people think.

So, here goes...

1 - Buy a new frame. A new frame means a greater option of more readily available parts.

2 - Transfer everything from my current bike onto the new frame.

3- As i can afford, upgrade parts, and then re-fit the old parts to the old frame.

4 - Continue to do so, until i have a complete bike, of much better quality.

5 - By this time i would probably be keen on upgrading the motor. So i could remove the motor and re-fit it to the old bike making it complete once again. I could then sell the bike on to raise funds for a new motor. This also gives me the oppurtunity through out the build up to snap up bargains on slightly used gear.

So all i have to work with right now is bascially my 110 loncin powered bike. The motor looks reasonably new, so it should serve me for some time yet. I also have (on it's way) a new DNM mrtc rear shock.

What are the thoughts on this?

In theory..great idea. But think of it this way..

Frame: Crf style frame $100+

Swingarm: $100ish

Your plastics, tank, seat etc wont fit so will need to be replaced: Theres $35ish for plastics, $10-15ish for a seat $20-30ish for a tank (if using MR sellers or eBay)
Plus $30ish if you want a grapihcs kit

Your new rear shock will be useable.

Front end may be able to be used (i said may)

Rims you can re use, maybe just upgrade front to run 14/12

Plus im sure there are things i have not covered..So your going to have to get all these first, build it up then put your engine in..and by then the 110 will not cut it.

So as you can see the $$ are adding up. Now i know you only bought this to run to work and back which is fine..But if you wanna get into minibikes you should either sell it and buy a decent one, or use it as intended while saving for a better one.

Hope this helps mate

Ok i was sort of hoping that everything i had now would be transferable. Things like plastics and decals ect could wait ofcrouse as they aren't priority.

I was thinking all i would need intitally was a frame, seat, and tank, hopefully coming in around the $150 mark assuming my swingarm would fit up to another frame? Oh and current rims are allready 14/12 if that matters at all..

About the 110 not cutting it, honestly for me it's enough. As i get more used to riding i might want a bit more power, but for now it's really more than enough, and more than i can even make anywhere near full use of...
