Hi everyone. Well a few days ago, i pulled the spark plug out of my mini dirt bike, and it was a little black and there was some build up or carbon, so i orded in 2 new spark plugs of ebay.

The spark plugs i bought said, fitts x sport, thumpstar type bikes and the make is NGK.

I put this new spark plug in, kicked the bike over with the choke on and it was reluctant to start, but it did. When i reved the bike up, it cut out. Once it cut out, it wouldn't start whether i tried bump starting it or kicking it, it just wouldn't start. All i managed to do, was flood it.

I took the spark plug out and put the old one back in and kicked it, and it started 1st time.

Why did this spark plug not work with this bike. It is a thumpstar style bike with a Loncin engine. It just wouldn't work with this spark plug i bought. I tried both spark plugs and neither of the new ones work. Why is this?

mayb set the space on the spark plug like your old one, the gap might be to large to generate a spark.

yeah i recon youd be better of geeting them from a good auto parts store. i got a c7hsa today for $2.50

My friend came round and insisted on trying it himself becuase he was determined it would work,

and gues what, he kicked it once and it fired up 1st time.

Works now ....

Weird.
