I Have an SSR125Sr and i recently bought a 50 caliber racing cdi. I want to change the sprocket front and rear for more speed. Which front size and rear will be best for the highest speed i can get out of it?:fencing:

the more speed you add the less take off you will have

best just to drop 2-4 teeth on the back

If this is the case, what is a good ratio? I want speed but accel. too. What front and rear should I get?

My guess is that the cases on your engine are the same as mine. With a 420 chain I am running a 17t front sprocket. Its pretty close fit and I think an 18t might fit but it is likely to rub the inside of the cover.

Large front/small rear = more top speed.
Small front/large rear = more low power

Just remember if you gear it too high it won't have the power to ever reach the top end. I'd switch the front sprocket first and see how you like it.. then start playing with the rear.

Steps to change a rear sprocket??? HELP!!

I bought a 37t rear sprocket and dont want to go spend 114.95 at my local mechanic. What are the steps to doing this. Im 14 and semi new to pits. How easy is this task. I would greatly aprreciate it if someone posted the steps.

Is it something that i can do? About how many pieces need to be taken off? and do i have to watch the chain adjusters??
