well a 5 inch tacho and shiftlight on a motorbike is pretty stupid... but i like this 3 inch one.... i think its a good idea... people saying who needs a tacho and shiftlight... well if you have drivin a drag car then you would know that you dont have time to look at the rpm. so a light telling you your at maxium power is easyer then watching the tacho right up till you want to change.

If you are a decent driver, you can tell by the sound.

well thats true aswell.. but if your running a 8 second car down the quarter mile... theres not much time to get it all right and you might lose a 500rpm because you didnt shift at the optium point... atleast with a shift light they can dyno it and find it where it makes max power.. then set the shift light at that.. soon as you hit that you chage gears... maybe not on the motorbike but ......

We are talking about a 7kW pit bike here lol not a 1000hp drag car

lol i realise that.. thats why i said shift light on a pitbike is pretty bloody stupid...

hey! if you guys are refering to me, i never said anything about a shift light! i was talking bout having a tachometer, and shiffint at approximatly 9k rpm..i never said anything bout a shift light! i'm innocent

The tacho had a internal shift light not external...
I tried a 5" monster tacho this 2day and it is way to big for this aplication.
I also tried it on a pocket bike which worked good.

who wants me 2 draw a wiring diagram?

Cheers!!

yes it runs off 12V..i got some small external batteries for mine...
ive had the tacho for a while...dont no how much it cost me, im guessing around 80 buks.

Never fear dabomb is here...Yes u do need a 12V battery to run the tacho.
