ive noticed there bothe the same width!
isnt the rear supposed to be bigger than the front tyre?
and neather say front or rear?
but there is a code that says F-655-1 does that mean anything?
and there if another that says F000095 does that mean anything?
theres also a cirle that has E4 inside it does that mean anything either?
and finnaly theres a thing that says 0702078870 on one of them and the other says 0602078835
im guessing the 070207 and 060207 is the date they were manufactured and the rest is maybe how many so far they've made?
anybody who knows what any of this mean plz help coz its all confusing!
thanks,
james

Yamoto at moss street at brissy are great guys, i live like a 2min drive from them, very good prices aswell

Have a read of this Atomik Boy :)

You do want tyres with different profiles between front/back, it improves turn in and handling. This is sometimes achieved by running different rim widths too... Personally I'd recommend getting some 2.15/2.5 12" rims rather than 1.85 front and back for motarding :)

You could stretch one to 2.5 no problem I'd imagine... The only problem with doing this is it reduces the tyres contact patch on the road :)

wow just read all of that realy useful info and it told me everything i need to know other than how to tell which is the front and wich is the back! thx sooo much krazed!
+ reps 4 you my friend!

is that better or worse?

Ok, I should have been more clear... It will actually increase the patch in a straight line and reduce it when cornering due to flattening out the tyre. Both of these are worse as it increases rolling resistance on the straights and decreases grip in the corners.

It shouldn't effect you badly enough to worry about it, but it's something to bear in mind :)

Thanks for the reps!

hmmm pete should be able to tell us which is better for the archy track! "help me no_crf50_here your our only hope"
oh and your welcome :D

No matter what track, you always want more tyre on track through corners and less on straights.

Spot on TyD ;)

You aren't going to reduce the contact patch by an appreciable amount with the amount of stretch you'll be getting. Seeing as these are your first tard tyres I wouldn't worry too much, ride them to death and upgrade to something better :D

so if tyd is correct then i should go with the 2.5?

What I said is correct..

and no, personally I wouldn't go the 2.5's. I would go a dirt rim... It seems that's what those tyres are made for, dirt rims

It's more likely that they where made for a scooter ;)

In any case, think of your long term prospects, if you keep your rear 12/1.85 and buy a matching front, you'll need to upgrade later on and you'll end up spending more.

yeah i think ill go with the 1.85 but i want a full set so i can swap from dirt to motard without havig to change the tyre every time! but the thing is itll cost a fair bit! plus i gotta get a full set of brake disks and a sprocket so itll cost heaps! but i will keep trying! if u guys any of the things i mentioned and it is a really good price ill see if i can grab the items off u!
thanks,
james

A second set of wheels is all you need, you can swap discs and the sprocket very easily :)

I'd say save for the 2.15/2.5's and do it properly, it'll be worth saving a bit longer...
