just got a new set up for my pitster pro lxr from motorbike city.
got a new decompression head , performance cam , big bore kit and pro circuit pipe and t4 muffler. the thing has more response and compared to the 4 valve heads the peaple are playing with now it runs smooth and has no tuning problems . all the parts are tb parts wich motorbike city keep in stock. the power output is a huge increase and the combination of the pipe and muffler eliminates that popping noise you get when using conventional mufflers through the exsaust at high revs. it runs and rides a whole lot smoother. cant wait for a bit cooler whether , hanging for a ride .

you will have to ring motorbike city on price as i also bout other **** at the same time and not entirly sure wot the cost was 4 the kit , it wasent that exspensive though . ring him on 0408281067 and he will work you out a deal

so you bought them over the counter same day hey..
thts pretty good.

you ll have to up some pics and a video of your bike mate, i would love to see it in action..

oh and list all the parts and how much they were.. its always good to know..

just spoke to motorbike city and found out that the big bore kit which i bought which included the new decomp head , s35 cam , big bore barrel and high comp short skirt piston and gasket set is $1200 fitted and tunned . aparently it is the same set up which mike reefman runs in his bike now.

so what bore kit did ya get??

and you can get a 184 kit with v2 head and 28mm carb from pitster for 1000 and i cantimagine it would be hard to tune and put together

the head is a tb v2 roller rocker race head with decomp valve on head and am running a mikuni carby at the moment but am in process of hunting down a kehin flat slide carby of a kx 65. reefy runs one and makes it even better. the big bore turns a 150 into a 184 and has short skirt high comp piston .

TB Parts Dyno Result

Hi All

Keihin PWK28 carb.

Mike Reefman has been testing the set-up for a few months now in both the YX150 and Z155 engine, it is what he will be running at Vegas.

We received this email from Mike Heron at TB Parts last week:

This is from Jamie, my friend who does the decomp mod - just got a VM28 flatslide from me and took his bike to the dyno:

Also ran my bike on the Dyno yesterday, V2 Ported and Polished with 184 kit and new cam with 28 Mikuni Flatslide. HP was 19.7 and was still breaking up on the top end with a 200 main in it!!!!! did not have a bigger one on me so i went and got a 215 main, gonna try that. first run was 18.6hp with a 195 main and second run was 19.7hp with a 200 main... still has alot more power to get from it... gained 1/2 a horse by jumping up one jet size.. The one guy came out of the shop and asked what 450 i was testing? haha no dude thats my pitbike.. ... i'm thinking i can get 21hp at least properly jetted...

Please note American jet sizes.

Cheers

Jaimie

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ah aha ha ha ha ah ah

i take it thats reefy in you avatar jono the jump after that one is sic but that one itself is hella scary
so
you gotta be kidding me right $1200 gee dommy got into you hey i dont mean to be cruel but i bet you payed to much for the lxr as for the bore kit he has charged you heaps to do a job that would only take and hour
shoulda bought it from here and done it yourself and had a pe28 sitting on there FTW
Classic Honda 50's Australia - TB 184cc Bore Kit, Race Head V2 and 28mm Carb Kit - GPX-YX160 [TBW9040]

second thing a big portion of the power reefy's bike makes comes from this
http://www.big50.com.au/viewer.php?itemid=1193051881&image=1193052618.jpg

this is a fully digital tuned ignition and flywheel it has crank senors and all sort of magical things that make for perfect timing
hell i've seen it turn a jailing 125cc motor with a cam into a 140 killer
i've seen it turn a yx 160 into an unridable machine to the point where andy de-tuned it
so dont expect your 5k pitster to beat reefy's

and z50racer you wanna be getting better results out of that 184 kit because the zonga 175cc is claiming 20hp stock and i'd give it credit for the best part of 18

andy from big 50 race and retro is the posh importer

give him a call 03 97073170 tell him joel sent ya

$1200 is a very good price if it comes with Decomp and s35 cam....

And i would say the 175 would be around 16 tbh

184v2 with s35 would do 20's

dont be so sure taz

if the yx150 pulls 15hp which a good one pretty much does then i've give the 175cc credit for every part of 18hp it's a fast and strong engine man
i reckon it's every bit as fastif not faster than the yx 160 with a v2 head and there meant to be about the 18hp or something yeah
but it's all speculation atm and dyno specs arn't always accurate

um wogtaz the s35 grind cam comes with the V2 head stock you can get a takegawa version for 200 bucks which i cant imagine ill do much more when its the same grind

well you actually get to pick between 3 cams when buying the v2 head well it seems to be 2 cams now

Yer nar they dont come stock with s35 cam.. thats why they make the cam lol...

Tb have only started making a cam with the same grind as the s35 thats why that site is offereing it.

Thats why it says "s35 type"

And by the looks of the other type they offer , the stock v2 head cams are more ground like the s25 cams.

Yer just an opinion really . is the 175s running stock z155 heads? im assuming they are.

Well they say with a simple s35 swap it adds a hole Hp... not really usuable power tho when its all up top .. but thats where they get these high numbers from i suppose , big carbys big porting and big ass cams.

Id reckon the 175 with the stock head would be a alot better usable power for a dirt track. and probably feels alot quicker for that reason

yeah i cant see the 175 having too much more HP than a 155z after all the 175 is just a 155z with a 63mm bore kit and clutch upgrades.
so unless theyve hidden a different cam in there as well then they arnt gona be too much more powerfull.

without seeing how the engine performs in front of me id give it 1-2hp increase over the 155z but iv said it once and ill say it again...HP means absolutely nothing, torque turns the tyre HP is just a ****** factor...

you wana build a good MX engine, stay away from big cams...
you want power early in the rev range to pull you out of tight corners without having to scream the clutch..
small duration cam with the lobe centers closed up is all you need...
add that to a BBK and large valve head and your set..
