Cheers guys!!!!
My finger is still attached so that's a good start lol.. Go back to the Austin to have the wire pulled Thursday so that should be fun :( but all is going as good as it can so far!!

How are the collarbones going Roy and Hussey??
Glad to hear you'll be back on the bike soon Hussey, bet your pumped!

Glad you getting better guys, I***8217;ve been for a few laps at Frankston a couple weeks ago, still have it in the back of my mind tho so wasn***8217;t going to hard. Don***8217;t think my shoulder will ever really be the same but I'm getting there, I also found out I chipped some off my elbow, thought it was bit sore +) every time I straighten my arm my elbow clicks and I have nerve damage in my hand so I definitely did a good job when I came off but I***8217;m still pretty pumped for VCM next year.

Hope everyone***8217;s in one piece =)

Had my six month check-up for my shoulder and finally got some sense out of these so called specialists..

Apparently my shoulder is still broken???????? After 6 months....awesome ay.. there is still one fragment not knitted
And will probably be removed all together once the plate is removed.. issue two is that I have some hefty nerve damage
Either caused by the floating bone or the fact that I not only broke my clavicle but also now they tell me that I also had a AC
Separation. Originally I was told that It was impossible to do both at once, you either break your clavicle or have a AC separation and that I could possibly have done both... well I do things well and did both hehe.. now the problem is that my tendons associated with the AC join are super stretched and even with all the physio and gym strengthening it will never look or operate the same so unless I get the while tendon replaced which is a pretty big op I just need to have a cup of concrete and live with it.. I honestly thought that I would be back to 100% after surgery and healing time but it just seems to get worse? Bit over it all and just want to live my life like I used to, instead I have to constantly think before I do things to avoid re-injury, kind of sucks but I guess I just need to get on with life and deal with the fact that it will never work or be the same as before.. kind of stressing bout VCM though if I fall on it again I***8217;m screwed but I need to get out there with you guys even if it***8217;s just a few rounds of the series.. someone***8217;s got to give Styv a hard time +) and these NSW boys are keen to take the cake..

Sorry to hear your not getting better.

I had a shoulder reco and it took me quite a while to get back on track. They said to me I would only ever get back to 80% movement but I'm easily 95% and it doesn't effect me at all now days.

You can come bang some bars down the back of the pack with me. :)

I think god/buddah/the flying spaghetti monster, only made Doctors to make Meteorologists feel better about themselves... Good luck with the repair mate, and you won't have to push to hard to get round me n the Atomik :p

Okay so I got a fractured left scapula which I believe happened when I had my big off at parklands on the sunny coat and being a real tough guy I failed to see a doc and go for xrays, but started to come good just before the yarram round of VCM, so nick and I met up with brooksy and a coupla other top lads for a warm up ride to get sometime in on the 184, I lasted 10mins before I had a real awkrawd landing after hitting a wash out which pulled my shoulder from its socket and upon landing smashing it back in that hard it knocked the wind clean outta me, I now reckon that the fracture I had already sustained now became a lil bit worse as the pain was unbearable, but my second hero moment came when I had a go at putting on a brave face and denying the fact that it was rooted and I needed medical attention, the day of the race came after a hellish nite of agony and an angel visited me and said mick where going to the hospital, so shut up and get in the car(my angel was motorman AKA nick lol,) such a selfless act to give up he's day of racing and enjoying time with he's mates to travel back to Melbourne and unload the bikes and take me to Austin hospital, where xrays and a CT scan and 7 hrs later resulting in the diagnosis first mentioned in this post.

I will heal but basically what I am getting at is don't be silly and deny yourself the chance to be seen to by a doctor thinking all will be okay as 9 times outta 10 its prob not okay. I was offered the opportunity to seek medical help by corey on the sunny coast 2 weeks before but shook it all off with the I will be cool speech.
Im not cool, actually it was very irresponsible and will not happen again, im most prob up for a shoulder reco in the future.

Do not gamble with your health no matter how young or old you are as your only fooling yourself and causing big dramas later on in your life.

Thanks to all miniriders for there kind words and support, and thanks to Austin health for making me comfortable and the oxy they fed me.

Hey hey i got you on the Morphine Tablets first!! haha. ;)

It's really not a stress mate. Yeah I was a bit bummed and I put a whole lot of effort into getting the bikes sorted etc but your health is more important. I was dragging you to that hospital if you liked it or not!! I could clearly see the pain on your face. I know you didn't want to wreck the day but your health is more important than a race period. I would have felt 100 times as bummed if we had of got you back Sunday night to find out you had a broken shoulder blade and I left you sitting in the cold the whole day!! Not how I look after mates.

I do like the whole Angel thing though but I ain't wearing a tu tu and wings for ya mate!! hahaha

All the best bud, get to the osteo, get it assessed further and deal with it as it comes. I have had a shoulder reco which is most likely what your going to need and can give you any advice you need.

Least they didn't cut it off

you'll be off the bike for a while but you'll be right mate

should have ridden anyway i say ;)

suck it up man HE he he

Nick your a top bloke mate your decision was the right one and you looked after your brother shame you missed out but it shows your character in your actions and I have great respect for what u did, Mick I'm shaking my head still in disbelief . Didn't even get a photo with ya because I thought I would see you in the morning after the pub ,was great to meet you mate and I meant what I said , dunno If u remember but I meant it lol hope u get sorted mate the next three weeks won't be fun but u will get there and u have all the support from all of us, if u need anything just hoi me

Good decision nick. Was a great act if kindness to put aside your days racing to look after a friend. And knowing you had practiced and were feeling more confident also goes to show it was very unselfish.

It also goes to show that as riders we should always look out for ourselves, but more importantly each other!!!!! It is always good to know that there are people next to you who will help you manage any situation.

When I broke my collar bone last year at yarram, everyone helped me organize bikes, getting to hospital etc. after i was injured. last month I was able to repay the gesture(probably not the best situation) to Greg from buzz bikes as he broke his wrist at traralgon. It just shows how dangerous it can be and to try and do our best to support each other.

All the best in your recovery Mick! Unfortunately didn't get to meet you as I've been away and was too buggered but look forward to our next encounter.

Okay, I got a 2nd opinion and have put in the urgent category, am now sitting in emergency waiting to go to the fracture clinic.

The doc asked for a copy of the 3d imagery disc as this sort of break is quite uncommon but he was furious once finding out about my first consult after arriving in town. The doc says to me do you want the truth, I say yes and he says your shoulder is ****ed.

I will not be on a bike for a long time. The first thought on my shoulder is it's worse than was first thought and am now waiting to be admitted in for some sort of surgery.

That sux mate :( Good thing you got a quad, as it's technically not a bike ;) Good luck with the reapir mate, just keep in mind that Dr's always give you a worst case diagnosis as that way it can only get better rather than if it got worse they would be putting themsleves in trouble (as Shearer and i were just discussing). Chin up mate, i'm sure it'll all be good in the end :)

Ahhhh what a bummer! It's a crap feeling when they tell you that. But as long as you're in one piece keep up the chin and all will come together.

All the best with the surgery and keep us updated!
