ebay is a good place to look bulldog. recimports sell em, as do most of the sellers with china bike stuff to flog.
and yeah, she aint a gin-yoo-whine Thumpstar... might be a thumb-star or bumpstart or something, but she aint the real fat lady. going by the pics, might be worth moving those bar clamps out to the second lot of holes in the triple before you lose a testi or something.
Thanks DvDRip.... Alright i just got a quick $100 WHAT SHOULD I GET FIRST?
Just pulled the head and barrel off and the shit that was in it was ridiculouse. I'm going out tomorrow and getting some gasket glue and gasket paper and might get some lite sandpaper to get all the shit out but there is no marks on the barrel and piston so thats a + and it was well lubed up another + but the oil was black (doesn't matter got some oil here).
When i was taking the head off, one of the studs at the front was stuck to the bolt and it took out the bolt (I'll get a pic tonight). Is that ment to happen? It didn't snap the bolt but it just slid out.
Hey um... Buying a complete gasket set will probably work out cheaper and saves frig assing around... $25 for complete... gasket paper and glue might be around $17 - $20 but theres a lot of screwin around involved.
Thing is i don't know what engine is in it? And it doesn't have any engine numbers or markings to identify it and it'll be useless asking the previous owner as he wouldn't have a clue.
O OH! Well that stud is ment to stay in the engine casing when you pull it off....
Check if the thread in the caseing is stripped... if it is well thats another story..
If the threads ok just loctite it back in there.
The threads alright from what I could see but I'll have another look tomorrow just to be sure. Out of interest would i of needed to get a new LHS case? Or what would I have to of got?
DvDRip is tis the same as the ones that MSO were selling? DHZ Mini Moto - Stator & Magneto, Seals
I looked on the link you provided and it didn't have one so I don't know if they still see them or not but if the one in the link isn't the same as the ones that MSO sold I'll send MSO an e-mail.
Well either get a new case, a HeliCoil insert or thread repairer kits (which are useless).
If there was enough metal there id go for a heli coil insert before i got a new case.
forget i mentioned thread repairer kits lol
yea bulldog that's the one, I'd email MSO just in case cuz their price was way cheaper
with the stud, put two nuts on the threaded end so the lock, then use 2 spanners to get the nut off, then put the 2 nuts on the other end where you just removed the nut and screw it back into the case with some red locktight, clean the threads up real good first
