Gday everyone, this is a question for those who really know their stuff when it comes to engines.
now... long story short, ive got a dhz160 2011 model, and my carby let a bucketload of dust into my engine, and i rode it once without noticing, and under close inspection i found that the air filter was pretty stuffed...
anyway, i stripped down the bike to allmost nothing, and left the gearbox and bottom end of the engine untouched, so i took the right side engine panel off, the clutch off as well, and i also took the heads off.
now when i took the head off, i forgot which way the timing chain goes back into the head... i can see timing lines on the engine and the gears, but im not sure if they are supposed to aim in the same direction as each other, or in the opposite way...
personally i doubt many will understand what im saying, but i have put it all back together, but in the shower i was thinking about it and im really dont know if the timing is correct... i dont want to start it and **** my valve's, piston and conrod... possibly even the crank if there is enough pressure...
i can turn the engine over with a spanner and it goes through all the cycles but i dont think the timing lines are linked properly...
also on another note, apparently i need a new head gasket because they can only be crushed once? i hope not... lol.
and if your wondering why im taking the right side of the engine apart (near the clutch and whatnot) its because the bike is stuck in second gear from a bent gear selector shaft...
im getting the parts for that in a few days, but cant test it until i get this timing issue fixed!
haha dug myself a little hole...
anyway, if anyone knows where i can find a engine manual or something that would be great. (i didnt get one when i bought it soo....)
if i cant fix it i will have to call dhz and see what they say, or even my bike mechanic.
any help would be appreciated. thanks all!:beerchug:
