I'm going to be buying a Uni Filter and I'm going to fit it to my bike.

What do I have to do to keep it maintained well and when I clean my bike with a powerhose do I have to put a cover on the Filter?

Cheers, Wes.

I cover the filter when i wash it! Either that or dont aim the hose at it. Wash your filter out in petrol to clean it

I got a box of disposable gloves from woolies, and i just stick one over the filter when iam hosing the bike down!

I wash my air filter in petrol then spray air filter oil on it, its this blue sticky stuff that also comes in a can with chain stuff. seems to work well.

another tip is to wipe a thin layer of vasaline around the inside foam just next to the rubber. Not the whole inside. This will catch any fine sand that may get through the filter. Oh and there is a heap of people using cooking oil on their filters. Dont. I have tried it and it doesnt work half as good as a good foam filter spray on oil. Belray is great. Cleaning filters sucks but its just something you need to do if you want your motor to last.;)

I use the Belray filter oil for mine I didnt like the spray shit
