v2 Decompression..Anyone tried or know anything about these items??

Hey people. I was wondering if anyone has tried the Race Head V2 Decompression Valve Option as in this link on the tb site or does anyone know anything about it?

they modify the head for it to screw in , then you have to pull it out every time you start it..

are they any good? is it much of a job for the average machine shop?

I duno if they sell them separately , they would want you to send your head in and get them to do it so its done right .

Pitster US has a decomp button similar but it uses a modified spark plug and bolts right on to any head.

TB Decomp Button

Hi

We don't sell many V2 race heads these days without the decomp button, they make starting much easier and will result in a lot less wear and tear on your high compression engine.

I contacted Mike from TB when the decomp button first come out to see if I could buy them to convert older TB V2 heads, but he deals with another business in the US that installs them for him.

Goodsons in the US also supply a decomp button for Harleys for around US$45 that look to be quite good quality.

A local machine shop quoted me $70 - $80 (1 hr) to install the button.
