well, what are ur uses going to be 4 this bike? jumping, racing, cruzing?
then we can tell u what that bike will handle.

Hi No-Fear. I just want to use it for a bit of fun. Mostly racing around with mates. I would like to be able to jump it within reason (no 30ft flat landings of course lol) landing on downramps and stuff. Most of my mates have orions and they trouble with motors and stuff breaks all the time. Thanks heaps for your help.

ok, how much do u want to spend? like every so often a brand name bike comes up on ebay, like thumpstar, mojo etc i'd keep searchin untill something with quality comes up. how about a 2nd hand crf50 or something?

Hi No-Fear, I'd be happy to pay the $900 or so if the quality was ok. I would like to try and buy new so then i don't run the risk of getting someone elses problems. I really do like the look of these bikes and from what i've read the Lifan engine is one of the best isn't it? Thanks again.

I think they look similar to ducar but it's definately a Lifan. There is a photo on there where you can see the engine. I've sent them an email and they have one in a store in sydney and apparantly all three of the mechanics there have bought one and they love them. So i'm going down to the store tomorrow to have a look. Does anyone know of anyone who might have one?

I have one, now all my mates own em'. Orions don't compare. Apart from the usual early care that all chinese bikes require, this bike is very well built and can be flogged hard. Your mates will hate you and be forced to upgrade. The motor is the Lifan with big valve head.

Hi all, went to look at the bike today at the shop in sydney. Spoke to the three mechanics that have bought them. They reckon they are great and haven't had any dramas. The bikes look awesome so got myself one on ebay tonight. I can't wait to get it and have a ride. Mack you are right orions don't even come close. All my mates have orions and i reckon when i get mine i'm gonna have to lock it up good when i'm not riding it lol.

They are great bikes i havnt rode a thumpstar but. This is the only biek i have ridden. Great down low power and gets right up their with top speed. Pops up really east. Rides well turns well. This is the biek i want to get but i still have to convince the parents gahh!

Hi all, got my new MSO yesterday. Put it all together and did the usual change fluids etc then took it for a ride. They are awesome. They have such a good motor and the suspension is great. Really well built and great quality. I'm just taking it easy on it for the first couple of tanks and then i'll be able to open her up. Can't wait. Pumba good luck with your parents you can tell them these bikes are more than worth it.

Joshie,
Good move....I love mine. Check that the swing arm won't hit the rear master cylider. There is a washer on the bottom bolt holding the rear brake master cylinder that you can remove to tuck it in. Maybe even add it to the top bolt.
I fiddled and adjusted all my levers into better positions. Check some of Mack's posts for some good info. As far as running in......some might disagree, but it's worth a read. http://mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
He stresses the mineral based 10w-40 for running in. I ran mine in according to this guide while others I know nursed theirs. Mine seems smoother and more powerful with no flat spots. A dyno comparison will tell the story. Be careful with the top fork bolts if you replace the oil (which you should). The thread is caked with locktite (which you should carefully scrape out with a very fine tool of some description, before you replace them). Loosen the top triple clamp but keep the bottom clamp tight, and use a good ring spanner. I'm researching the bore-kit possibilities at the moment, so we should dedicate a thread to that subject soon.
At my door for $970........????.....you can keep your thumpstars!

Hi all, been out riding my new MSO all weekend and i can only describe it with one word - AWSOME. You can jump it, wheelie it and ride it hard all day with no problems. Best thou i've ever spent :) lol
