Good question...........................Dont know, but guessing it would be CRF, just like the current Dirtmax YX head's.

i wouldn't waste my time on this head

all they do is lunch the motor big time

we put the trail bikes head on a brand new 160 and it lunched not long out of run in so maybe 2hrs

and it didn't just lunch it self destructed it clean snapped the 3rd gear drum exploded the caseing around the bearings on both gear drums and kick start gears lasted 2 kicks

now saying this we are going to try this on another and push start only to confirm that it was power that lunched it but i'm fairly convinced

think that if i got that 160cc they got and put it on an accredited dyno that id be able to sue if its not up to what they claim?

with that v2 head on it it makes every bit of 18hp i rode the thing and it was like riding a crf250
you have to work to keep the front wheel down in 3rd

but it self destructed and well $1200 worth of motor lasting 2hrs

Just curious Coolee ... What type of ignition system did it have on it ... a stock type flywheel , IRK or Daytona/Lifan type ORK ... Did you guys check the ignition advance at various points thru the rev range ? Did the tranny let go on the shift or while revving out in gear ? ....

Well that's your opinion mate ....but I disagree

I was stuck with a new custom board from Geltchy and no cover or way to get it home at kotc .... so this arrogant man gave me his seat in the dirtmax truck flying at his own expense (wouldn't take coin from me ) ...he couldn't get a flight for a few days as it was long weekend so it cost him a few extra days in surfers as well.

Why is everyone putting down Dirtmax?

Anyone to see his bikes raced by the likes of Chicken at the Hunter jam know they are up to the job and are (combined with their pilots) Bull **** fast.

Sure he looks like he's doing the tour de-france with a head like that but bloody hell he's got a great set up going on down there at Dirtmax , they offer really good spares - quality **** like ebc pads , ntn bearings etc and not selling some cheap **** dhz replacement parts. He's actually thought about the hard to get parts for china's and done the work for us and found those compatible parts such as brake pads / clutch plates / bearings / seal kits etc that fit , this was one of my main problems when I used to ride a china , trying to find those consumables not bling but quality replacement parts.

Andddddd unlike most china bike specialist's dirtmax isnt leaching of the industry , he's sponsoring events , helping crew out , sponsoring riders , offering genuine quality , helping out on race day ( Snapping shots etc).

I ain't promoting dirtmax , nor have I ever bought anything from him but I am so glad there apart of the mini scene as dirtmax helps drive the racing scene and is one of the few importers who actually give a **** about their customers and the future of the Australian mini bike industry aswell as helping to put an end to china bashing.

I'd trust his components , all these dyno warriors can throw around all the claims they want but Dirtmax is doing the real R&D out on the track and there impressive results on race day prove so.

i shouldn`t have said anything to start with and probably cought him on a bad day but when i did go to his shop to buy parts he wanted nothing to do with me untill i put my hand in my pocket and showed i was serious then got the ***** when i brought the middle range priced stuff and not the more expensive items. that was the impression i got of him and a few other blokes have said the same and wont return back to him. but like i said might have got him on a bad day or something.

I have one with a TB 165 V2 kit on it and it made 15.8hp on the dyno at buzz bikes. There was a bit of tire slip at about 10,000rpm so it should have recorded a slightly higher number.

Call me old fashioned, but the CASH FOR COMMENT wont FLY with me, and i dont belive that forums should have SHOP sponsors.

DIRTMAX is hot subject in both forum's here and overseas, whether its good or bad......its getting discussed...nevertheless.............which is not a bad thing overall, when you think about it.

Which SHOP OWNER in their right mind, would treat a customer like this! I NEVER DID!

Are you serious? This is the most crap.....ive every heard, sound's more like a scene from the movie THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, than anything real life.

Peolpe that know me will tell you the same.

As for the YX150 Dyno, this engine was tested at around 14.7HP back wheel Stock, sure the sheet showed some irregularities in the torque and RPM scale, but that was due to techincan error.

The engine was then tested with a few jet changers and we gained an extra 1HP, bringing it to 15.5HP

We then futher tested this engine with a TB V2 head & piston and some other modifications (cant mention) but leaving the head stock and getting a smooth 17.8 HP.

Then we carried out some more R&D (also cant mention) and achived just over 19HP.

I am currently working with an "OLD TIMER", who really knows his stuff, opening a whole new world in R&D for the YX150, in places i'de never would have thought.

So i beleive that these YX150 can relaise every bit of 20HP without comprimising the gearbox or the budget.

I am already in talks with DIRTMAX YX Guanzhou to put this engine in production.

Dirtmax lost a lot of clients lately and a polished up dyno won^t get them back...thats 4sure

yeah get them to use a standard bearing on the 3rd gear drum as 15x34 doesn't exist as a bearing and the ones they use are shitand most have had real issue's with em

and cactus my mates engine lunched because in the latest batch of yx 150 and 160's they haven't spaced the idler gear on the 3rd gear drum properly so when you kick start it the gear skews and bite into the caseing and part of the selector i think and snap's the shaft clean off at the ****** bearing

will happen to most of them unless you rip the clutch off and chuck a washer in there but in doing that the bearing will still lunch itself just as quick due to the quality of the thing

thats our experiance anyway

the problem is nowon that i know in the industry give the chinaman's this sort of feedback so it wont get fixed and well i spose even if you tell the china's they dont realy care so good luck to us

but the second go at this engine has been successful it's done a few hours and made it through a race day for the most (oil line split) but we have been push starting it

i own a gpx150(yx)and i have had two very hard motard track days and a bunch of thrashing and all up ive done 2 oil changes and mines just as good as they day it came outta box

still snaps 3rd on the rear wheel
