hi,
I have been looking at heaps of bikes on he internet lately and i was just seeing what would be a recomended bike to get from someone who knows.

The bike im after would be a bike that is suitable for small jumps and just general riding around (im 17 so general riding around for me is riding at all paces, from fricken fast to cruzing around. i will be riding it around my grandads farm in myrtleford (norht east victoria) which during the colder months of the year get pretty mudy so it would have to be handle that sort of stuff.
sooo....ive been looking on ebay, some of the bikes there are total piece's of crap and some look pretty nice, but i spose looks can be decieving.i dont have heaps to spend (probably max spendingness will be around $1000)
incase anyone is wondering im pretty good with mechanical stuff, ive mainly worked on cars, tractors and a few motors connected to pumping systems to get water out of a river (the motor is some huge 6 cylinder merc motor from a truck)

are orions, atomics, or pro x bikes any good?
(after today im away for 2 weeks on school holidays to the country so i will not be able to soo your replies for a while)

If your budget is a grand then go for a atomik or orion twin spar frame model (newest model out) There not the best pit bike but they should handle what u want to dish out. They will always have a few small problems but nothing too major. If your budget was more i would say go for a FMR
($3,000), Motovert( 2nd hand about 1,600) or a thumpstar (2nd hand $2,000), these bikes are the top quality pit bikes.
heres a link to the twin spar bike http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-2006-Pro...651739843QQcategoryZ32074QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The first bike you posted is better than the elstars bike. It has a lifan which is a good quality engine and it looks better quality. The elstars biks are one of the best orion models.

Actually i had a good look at the first one and it just looks like a orion with a facelift. The swingarm looks the same as my Atomik Avenger and the frame does also.

thanks for the information, and about parts.....
can you get them from shops or only from ebay.
i know that you can probably get parts like tyres and cables and many other things from shops but are there any parts that i cant buy from a shop?

I dont think im going to the country today so i can reply to your messages.

Hi, If you are looking around the $1000.00 mark I would recommend the same bike I purchased http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MESE:IT&rd=1 If you refer to my post where I ask for opinions you will see that lots of others have the same bike and rate them as highly as I do. A couple of my friends have since bought them direct from the sellers and are stoked. We have had no problems but know that our seller has spares when/if we need them.

they look pretty good, is there anywhere where i can see a video of you guys?
(on your bikes)

Hi, Don't have a video camera unfortunately. If you're after some pics you can email them. They sent me heaps of photos before i bought mine. Really helpful people. [email protected]

The first bike you posted is one of these joshie is talking about. The guy wants $1400 but you can get them new $900.
