G'day all,

Thought there was some busted O-rings behind the flywheel as the stator is filling with oil and causing no spark, Upon closer inspection theres a gaping hole which continues up the side a little bit? when you lean the bike over or kick it Oil pours out through it, Don't think this is suppose to happen

The hole looks pretty uniform not like anything has punched through it? does some sort of rubber go there...? i have no idea hoping someone can point me in the right direction

its a 250 zhongshen i beleive, only had 2-3 rides then died hopefully pics can give a better idea, Really unsure if that hole is meant to be there? but i don't think its meant to,Thanks for any help

Thanks for the reply mate....I'm really unsure eh.....On another thread one told me that the stator e.t.c in there should be all dry?, The stator itself was covered in oil, I cleaned her up put all back together and whammo she started but quickly died....Pulled the case back off and shes filthy with oil again

My question...if it's supposed to be wet Oil been thrown up around in the stator and magneto e.t.c wouldn't effect the spark? thanks for your help...I'd be out of luck finding a service manual, I bought this bike secondhand not long ago... I think it is a over head cam...not to sure...is there a way to tell? thanks again....

But then again you could be right, I just snapped another photo of the gasket which is a little torn down and where that tear in the gasket is you can see where the oil gets into the stator? You can see the stator clean now, But when i first pulled the cover off it was literally bathed/submerged in oil

Same prob

I have exactly the same prob. It should be a dry stator. I have 2 bikes with the same 250cc zongshen and the other one runs dry. I dont know what the holes are at the bottom, but mine has the same. Doubt that oil should be coming through them though. Been told of two possibilties. There are two bolts at the back that need seals around them, and they may need replacing. Could be also the crank shaft seal has gone. I have a mate looking at it over the next week or two to let me know. As soon as i find out I will post up.
