i dunno about that one mick,
you could get dirt/sand stuck in between the spokes under the zip ties which might cause some premature wear.
but i have seen it done on a Finke Desert race bike before, it was a 660 Tenere
he reckons they can help to stop broken spokes from slicing your brake lines etc


i'm not a fan of the Spoke Savers either

A lot of blokes I know do that and I havent heard of any premature wear. As long as you use a top quality 3mm zippie the chances of anything getting caught in there are extremely low.
