Hey guys just recently bought a 125cc thumpstar. It looks sick its got monster graphic kit on it and pro taper bars. I bought it for $600 my mate bought it for around $950 only one month old and had 3 rides on it the reason he sold it was hes saving up for a registered moto vert.
Q1: Which way does the fuel cap turn for the fuel to be on?
Q2:To turn the choke on do you push it up.
Thanks guys he wasnt 100% sure thats why i am asking you guys also are thse 125cc thumpsters reliable the bike is an ASSASSIN 125cc it goes hard.
Also has any one riden appin if so is it any good for thumpsters.
THANKS JACK ;)

some petcocks are different mine turns the fuel on turning it to the right.

Easiest way to find out is to pull the hose of the petcock and turn it till fuel comes pouring out.

and yes pull the choke up for it to open

if youve tried what roost said and still cant work it out then i dont know what answer your looking for..

if fuel doesnt come out no matter where you turn it then its obviously a faulty fuel tap or simply not enough fuel..

may even be clogged up,

Try removing the petcock and cleaning, also check the little filter screen in the tank.

If that fails buy a new one.

pull the air filter off and check the carb for the choke operation, no choke is open and choke on the butterfly is closed

Not all chokes have a butterfly - most of them don't actually

I'm curious Jack - why don't you ask your mate? if it was his bike he should know

thanks guys yeah didnt try it yet it works just wondering can some one explain step by step jhow to do it sounds confusing

also whats the go with the choke is it up when when you first start it then down once warmed up just on most 125cc and which way do you nromally turn the fuel tap to turn on and off?
cheers never bought a thumpstar before i ride a kx85

To Find Out Whether the Choke Is ON or OFF

Remove the air filter from the carby

you will see a metal flap (in most cases) which will either be "blocking off" the intake or positioned horizontally.

If the metal flap is sitting vertically so it is blocking off most off the intake (apart from a small hole/gap) then the choke is on, because its "choking" the bike of air.

If the metal flap is sitting horizontally and so there is large spaces either side then the choke is off, because a lot of air can be sucked in.

Now flick the choke switch up or down and figure out which is on or off.. simple :)

Oh and dont forget to put the air filter back on ;)

To Find Out Whether the Fuel Is ON or OFF

Pull off the fuel hose which is after the fuel tap, because then you can see whether the fuel tap is blocking the fuel from coming through or open.

now you've done that, either fuel will be pissing everywhere or nothing...

if fuel is pissing everywhere, the fuel tap is on and so take note of the position of the fuel switch, whether its up/down or left/right

if nothing is happening, then the fuel tap is off and again, take note of the position of the fuel switch.

now turn the switch the other way and the opposite should happen.

turn the fuel off and connect the fuel hose back to where it was :)

Hope this helped..
