I'm thinking about getting a bike and i like one that has a normal swingarm but i prefer the cradle/tri swingarm setup. Are they compatible and would I need to change the rear shock?

the shock would have to be changed i know that much but with regards to mounting a A-style swinger on a mono frame i am not too sure to be honest, i believe this question was asked before and the answer was no due to measurments, it would fit but the shock would have to be altered or the mounting brackets would have to be altered to accomidate for the change in length. dont take this as a definate answer but things arent looking too good if my mind serves me correctly.

sorry.

Cheers,Tony.

ok, ive done this, only because my bike had 2 shock mounts on the frame,

i got a longer spring 2 suit the proper tri swingarm mount, but did use the stock shock in the normal flat swing arm mount and it made the bike way 2 tall.

Ok so its pretty much a no. Thats ok though cause i've changed my mind and getting a bike that already has a cradle fitted.

Thanks!
