Hi All,

I have a pitbike motor up and running with a wiring setup the same as the one in tech tips. I would like to add some lights to the bike (stop and headlight) and was wondering what the best approach is to connect them in? Are there different CDIs with additional connections for lights?

CDI has nothing to do with it. Stator has a lighting coil? You need to have a spare yellow and/or white wire for 12v power. The simplest setup is a 2-wire regulator. Tougher, any way. Then you wire the lights direct and "T" the regulator in to it, hook up ground and go. The 4-wire regulator/rectifier is for running a battery, converting AC to DC.

12-Volt Voltage Regulator

2 spare wires coming from the stator into the plug which aren't being utilised on the other side of the plug with the existing wiring, I'm assuming one of them will be what I need. So you're saying take one of those 2 wires, run it into the regulator, then out to the lights?

Thanks

Maybe. What color are the spare wires?
