Believe me he is right, i rode kostas linkage 190 tbhead bike.. and it could put down 100% of the power (almost) and try to lift me over the rear.. thats with elka rear shock and a good setup..In a big bore midsize you want linkage. No question about it. The difference is very noticeable for your average rider.
In a 50 it wouldn't matter as much.
Why do you think KTM run linkage now? It's a much better efficient way of getting power to the ground.
If it was my decision to buy a bike which costs almost double a bike that doesn't have linkage then it's pretty simple decision.
i rode his ex race bike thats non linkage and a 160 tb (i think) and it was just squirmish under power very hard to make it hook up.. rode most of the jumps similar but when it came to the whoops the linkage was much smoother holding the bike level....
