Ok so ive been building a postie bike for a little while now and i have installed a yx150 engine from a ciniworx 150. Install went well everything ran just fine, but the engine didnt have a charging/lighting circuit. So i bought what i thought was the appropriate magnito/stator off ebay. When i went to install it i realised that it was considerably larger and also vefy few of the wires matched up, i figured out as best i could what was what without an acurate wiring diagram, and after install was complete it would not even come close to starting, and it had one little wire left over that came to a sort of disk that clearly goes into some kind of hole that isnt present on my engine.

Where have i gone wrong here? Photos attached are of engine in bike, new stator, wiring, odd disk thing, and old stator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What cdi and wiring are you using on the Postie ?

that green w/red stripe wire is only used in Start in neutral only pitbikes, wont be needed for your postie

Cheers, Craig

Cheers! Is the green w/red wire going to cause issues for me?
Wiring and cdi is all standard from the ciniworx at this stage.

The green with red stripe wire isn't needed for the postie.
It is hardly used these day's in many pit bikes.

So you have the 8 pin cdi like this fitted now?

If so, then you wont be able to get it running using that and the stator you have bought.
And you might have damaged that 8 pin cdi by wiring it up like you have too.

Ah i see. Thats no good at all. So will i need a different stator or different cdi?

Thats for your help by the way.

Thanks heaps dude, ill let you know how it goes once i install it.

I haven't got any of the lighting/charging circuit yet, want to get the thing running first.
