Fitting Fast Ace AS-02 to pit pro 138cc

No, I have only ever fitted the alloy ones to honda sized steering heads therefore have always had to have them sleeved instead to take the 41mm crf bearings! Its a real pain in the @rse. ***** me that importers aren't getting the tapered bearings put in by now. It would be like 50c extra per bike.

Lifan Blowing Air Out of the Carby

well you better do a bit more investigating then. That sounds like the valve is sticking in the guide. I presumed the clearance was too little , therefore not allowing the valve to close properly and so allowing carbon to build up on the seat. But if there was a massive clearance as you say that...

Lifan Blowing Air Out of the Carby

May work, may not...for the sake of a couple of bucks I personally don't risk the nuisance of having to go into the head again.

Lifan Blowing Air Out of the Carby

Is good to be forced into your engines internals...demistifies everything. You will have to clean the valve and its seat but you do not want to score the seat, otherwise you will end up with the same prob down the track. Because this was most likely caused by incorrect lash setting, is a good...

Fitting Fast Ace AS-02 to pit pro 138cc

Yeah the DHZ replacement stems are hit and miss. I have had to have some turned in the lathe to be correctly pressed home in the lower triple clamp and to fit the bearing but others ok.

    Engine break in...

Also the mention on that site about corect grade and immediate oil change is IMO very important. I will not start the engine with the factory oil at all. I only use mineral 10w/40 and after the very first 15min hard run that first lot is dumped. It will be grey and absolutely chockers with...

    Engine break in...

I am absolutely convinced it does. First, the theory is based on sound principles and to my knowledge, technically correct. Second it is supported by evidence of testing both methods and also shows motives for manufacturers to recommend the gentle break in even though they themselves run them...

Lifan Blowing Air Out of the Carby

Remove the timing side engine cover and the cam cover. Check the camsprocket timing mark lines up with the notch in the head when the flywheel is at TDC. Whilst at TDC check the valve clearances. If these are correct then you most likely have a sticking or bent inlet valve. Replacement is easy...

Fitting Fast Ace AS-02 to pit pro 138cc

No you probably will not as your DHZ frame should accept the 44mm bearings. EDIT- Providing you have the replacement steering stem like DHZ provides on his forks not the fastace alloy stem. In that case refer above...

    New suspension for DHZ 140

Yes the DNM forks are a better fork with better spec internals and design, so should be the better fork...but the fastace AS02 I know the tricks for and they can be easily tweaked to perform perfectly well for less money. Once I find the the lowest cost for the performance I want thats where I...

    Bel Ray 20/50w Oil

I have seen many requests for where to get 10w/40 mineral oil. And above I see genuine Honda oil recommended. The truth is this. All new vehicle and machinery dealers stock the geniuine brand oil for there particular equipment like the Honda 10/40 above. This oil will be full mineral oil. Most...

    Porting!

I would use .5mm made from good shim stock. You will find the newer heads like those on the 140's are much easier to port and it is not necessary to break through. As for grinding the guides down, no there is no problem. These valves are very short and the lift is small so there is minimal...

    Bel Ray 20/50w Oil

These engines are designed for and rely on 40 weight oil for all systems to operate correctly. A detailed explanation why would take an hour to write..

    Porting!

Yes you can jb weld the breakthrough up but you want at least a couple of mm over the top and must use a reasonable size shim under the spring to distribute the load. Welding the port up and recutting the spring seat shallower than stock is obviously the way to go if you want to really modify...

    Porting!

You mustve posted while i was typing! Thats some tidy work there le|garage. Good shot to show the shape these guys need to aim for. BTW it is much easier to look at ports this way up for those posting pics!

    Porting!

You don't need to worry about blending to the rounded shape of the valve, because you actually want a flat floor in that area. The floor height you already have is ok, but you can take more out at the sides where the epoxy blends to the walls. This will "square" up the floor and walls which, for...

    Porting!

yes it gets ground flush in the intake port. I have in the past taken some off the exhaust valve guide and some remove it altogether. I like some in there as the guide is the main conducter for the exhaust valve to rid itself of heat and also acts to shield the valve stem from the high temp...

    Porting!

Tubes the "homework" link posted above has all you need, just use that as a guide. Don't forget to plug the port with plasticene so epoxy won't flow all over your valve seats and everywhere else. Borntoslide- you have conquered the worst of it...by having a go! All you need to do is shape the...
  19. M

    Porting!

No I don't think it will be better. You have to think of a port flowing like a water pipe....up until it comes to the valve. Then your thinking must change. All mixture must pass through a ringed gap. Not only that but the portion of the ring closest to the exhaust valve has most of the gas...

October 50 of the month **Vote Here**

You guys really should leave personalities out of your consideration for FOTM. And whether they are a new member, hardly contributing member, any kind of member....its purely about the bikes. If a bike gets accepted to run then thats it. Otherwise you'll end up with the suckiest hall of fame on...
