The parts are all in the post too, just made it to the post office this arvo.
I had to give the satchel to the Aust Post van driver as he was just about to drive off.
I gave the barrel a quick degrease and blow out before packing it.
And i gave the pot's a quick deburr too.
Just check them when you get it and if you can feel any sharp edge's where it's been honed just give them a light sand with 320 w&d paper to take the edge off.
Thanks again craig, your a rare breed buddy! World needs more ppl like you in it. Cant wait to get all the bikes running and organise a ride weekend with you
Over tightened, maybe without an alloy or brass crush washer
You can buy an expanding sump plug, it's like a rubber bung with a nut on the iside and thread and wing nut on the outside.
So the tighter you do it up the more it expand's, they cost about $12-$15
Other way (best) to repair it would be to use a thread insert, will cost around the same
Very surprised to see those cracks like that on an '05 ... my '99 RM 125 has the exact same problem, just not nearly as bad. Drained the gear oil one day, and when I went to tighten it up, it went snug, then loosened up again. Checked underneath to see what was up, and sure enough the tiniest crack along the side of the drain hole. I'm a little upset to see they still hadn't fixed that problem 6 years later =P.
Its pretty poor r&d on suzukis part. It doesnt leak, so im peicing it together and selling it. I will mention it in the add, and im only putting twelve hundred on it with a fresh top end, new pads etc so I feel its a fair price.
The ironic thing is when buying a bike. l always look at the sump before compression . By default especially buying road bikes. This is mainly as ex road race bikes have drilled and wired sump plugs . Just a habit now . Even thou dirt bikes dont need wire locking its become habit. Guess its made things a bit sour .
It still would have been a good experience for Callum, showing him the power of a 2 stroke etc
Will probably make him want more power too after feeling the powerband pull.
Yeah I have learned a lot from the rm, and callum loved riding it. That's why I bought him the motovert, he wanted a crf150r but I haven't got that much to throw at a 12th birthday present lol
Back together, had her running for ten minutes to make sure she went. Just waiting on a bolt kit I ordered to replace all the missing bolts and then she goes up for sale.
