brand new pitster motor popping into neutral

Hey guys

I have a brand new pitster 160ho motor. Only done a hour of riding

Mainly in 4th on load its popping into neutral. Any ideas wgy this would happen???

Motor issues??? Or clutch ya think??? Had same motor in with same clutch set up etc and had no worries

The clutch is not adjusted too much is it?

Dont think so.. seems fine in all other gears etc

Might be the selector spring. How often does it happen?

Does not sound right to me. Ring who ever you brought it from and tell them before you go riding it any more or pulling it apart

Yeah i have emailed dhz. See what they say. If they give me the run around ill take ir furrher. I need it for next sun

gear it so you only use 3rd. hehe.

It'll be interesting to see what the cause is ! You wouldn't expect damaged or worn dogs or shift forks in a 1 hour old motor ... More than likely something to do with the way the tranny or shift mechanism was assembled at the factory ...

Yeah hopefully hear back from dhz early in the week. Like i said i will be riding un 4th... tje ut just starts revinng... like its in neutral.. then slips back into 4th.. weird as.i need it for a ride day next sun. So hope its sorted by then

Rhe clutch cable mount on the motor was loose. Could that affect it??

I would say not. Usually a clutch thats adjusted too much lets the gearbox slip in and out of gears easy.
A loose clutch would make it hard to change gears.
But you never know. ride it and see.

It happens. Poor factory alignment isn't engaging the dogs far enough and the weak forks flex, letting it pop out. You can shim things and get it better. Some of the pre-HO ones would grab when pushing the bike in neutral, when leaned to one side.

Ywah well i emailled dhz and still nothing back. Im gonna give them 48 hours for a reply then ill take it durthur as i have a 3 month warranty..

Well i took it for a ride today and was fine. But just doeant seem right. Only popping out off 4th. Going to beutral then whwn u kick kever goes back into gear... weird thats all
