Yeah I was leaning towards yellow too as the seat covers that i'll be getting have the yellow stripe on the side which will work well with the yellow ram air tubes.

Yeah im loving the way it's all come together :)

I was leaning towards yellow, but that is alot of yellow... Personally i'd say black, but maybe spray the inners on the top fairing yellow. Looking like a nice little bike, almost the same colour scheme as mine but with yellow rather than green ;)

I decided to do a test fit by using some left over paint to see how the yellow air tubes would look.
The yellow doesn't match the rest of the yellow on the bike but it saved me from having to buy more spray paint.

I agree with timeeh that its just too much yellow. What do you guys think?

Colours aren't perfect but you get the gist.

Awesome looking build so far man
Just wondering are the new indicators going on LED or just globes, not sure if you have them on already or not but if you install LED indicators on them older bikes it will speed up the flash rate and ya need to get a new flasher relay to slow it back down

I know you mentioned the uneven flashing earlier but just thought I would throw it out there just incase
It happened with my R6 when I changed them

thanks for that gooseman! I think ill keep the air ducts black, the small splashes of yellow work better imho.

bjbarsted - Nah the indicators use normal globes and havn't experienced any issues with the flash rate. I believe that you can also fix the flash rate by using resistors which could be a cheaper option.

Also, correct me if im wrong, but I thought that LED indicators weren't allowed in Aus?

You may be right there I haven't gone into the legal side but never got in trouble for having them
And you can use resistors also as a cheaper option

I prefer the yellow. haha.

You can use LED indicators on trailers etc and they pass for full reg on dirt bikes?

+2 Carbon Fibre would look sick!!

Brendo has posted how he did his 50 tank. Sure he could point you in the right direction.

Hmmm, I'm not too sure about the CF wrap, i've seen it on a few bikes and I found that it look a bit too fake. Plus it would be the only CF on the bike. Maybe if I add a CF tacho shroud, case covers and exhaust hanger it will work

I tried doing my whole rear section in carbon wrap. Ended up throwing the whole sheet in the bin after around 1/2hr of stuffing round, it apparrently takes a lot of patience which I don't have :p

Progress has been slow lately as i'm trying to sell my pitbike to fund this project.

I have upgraded to a lithium battery which is unreal. Only weighs 400g and is tiny compared to the old battery but it cranks the bike over far easier and wont need recharging every time I leave it for a few weeks:

I also re-upholstered the seats as they were looking very tired. Down the track I will re upholster again with the leather yellow and black covers that I spoke of previously. They are a bit dirty in the photo's but they are a huge improvement over what they used to be:

Progress has been slow but yesterday I installed a fan bypass switch so that I can manually turn the cooling fan on, as well as installing new mirrors. I will hopefully be getting new tyres soon.

As the tyre installation will be free if I bring just the wheels in I might as well take the opportunity to rebuild the front and rear braking system.

Well I finally decided to get my act together and get this bike on the road.

This weekend I put the bike on stands, removed the wheels and gave them a thorough clean. It looks like this bike hasn't had a proper clean in 20 years - had to get a toothbrush out to remove the buildup in the spokes.

Once the wheels were cleaned I took them to the shop to get new bearings and tyres fitted. Just waiting for the new seals and brake pads to arrive and they can go back onto the bike!

The only thing to do now is replace the temp. sensor and re-balance the carbs using the 4-way synchrometer that I made:

I also bought a new Bell RS-1 helmet, some boots and a leather jacket which will hopefully arrive this week :D

seals arrived and the new hoops are on :D also replaced the pads with Metal Gear organic's.

The new bearings are awesome, the wheels spin beautifully - far better than previously with the 20 year old bearings.

Will be saving up for the next few weeks for Draggin jeans, RWC and rego.

Does anybody know if its a RWC requirement that all of the gauges work? The temp gauge doesnt work as there is an issue with the sensor. I'll be replacing it but I don't want it to be holding up the RWC if its not required for it. I had a look at the RWC booklet and couldn't find any mention of it?
