That looks mint man, great work with the whole thing, seen one just like that riding around down my way but its not as good I don't think.
 
After looking at the photo's, the colour of the lower fork legs is really annoying me, it just doesn't work.
I might look into plasti-dipping them black at some point. I'm also considering plasti-dipping the muffler while i'm at it. I have read that Plasti-dip is heat resistant and suitable for exhausts, plus it's removable so easy to re-apply if damaged.

It might also be good for the scratched engine covers.

I plan on buying a Musarri carbon muffler down the track but I need the current exhaust for RWC and wouldn't mind it looking a bit cleaner in the meantime.
 
Mate the bike is clean enough. Will pass a road worthy no probs even without temp gauge not working.

You only have to start it for 30 seconds so they won't even know. ;)

Looks awesome. You have done a top job.
 
That's good to hear :D

I managed to find a temp sensor for $15 from a guy that was selling a bulk lot of parts on gumtree so i'll be able to get the temp gauge working prior to roadworthy anyway :D
 
While changing the temp sensor I decided to check the thermostat:

Stuffed. It explains why it was running so poorly after startup - it wasnt warming up like it should. It might also explain why the temp sensor didn't work - i wasnt running the bike long enough to warm up the full system.
 
Managed to get it all sorted and bike is loaded up for tomorrow mornings RWC :D

Yeah I can't wait :D unfortunately though my mate that I'll be doing my riding with spilled on his Ducati so it'll be at the shop for a few weeks. Will have to do the twisties on my own until then
 
It bloody failed the first time for a bunch of silly reasons. They went over it with a fine tooth comb.

Their reasons for failure and the resolution:

- ‘Right fairing mounting lug didn’t meet up with bracket’
This fairing piece is a Chinese one so the lug was in the wrong spot. Didn’t affect the bike in any way, used a flat head bolt to attach the fairing to the bracket
- ‘Clutch lever would touch the fairing when at full lock’
Did not affect the handling in any way, the H-bar was slightly bent. I bent it back and all was well.
- ‘Bike wouldn’t rev under 4000rpm’
The bike was low on fuel so I was using the reserve tank. They decided to switch it to the main tank so it must have been running lean with very little fuel. I filled her up with fresh fuel and it idles smoothly at 1600rpm all day long
- ‘Bolt missing from seat’
I left one bolt out on purpose when re-installing the battery as I thought they might take the seat off anyway.
- ‘No reflector on rear’
Even though the ADR’s have changed, Vicroads has not updated it’s requirements so I had to buy a $20 mudguard from them. Not a big issue.

I took the bike home and fixed all of the issues within 30-minutes, took it back the next day and it passed.

Booked the rego inspection for next Tuesday :D

Over the past couple of weeks I have been keeping an eye on ebay and have managed to get full leather track gear in awesome condition for $250 all up, including 2-piece leather suit, leather boots and leather gloves. That’s the same cost as renting the gear a couple of times at the track.

Looking forward to getting it to Broadford for some tuition :D
 
What a bunch of tools. All that stuff is plain BS. Should have passed easily as it was clean as.

Oh well least you got it all sorted out.

Get some pics taking it for a spin at Broadford for sure. :)
 
What a bunch of bull****, feckin bunch of fuktards. The no reflector on the rear, well ive been done by that before too, even though i pointed out the fact that it had been given full ADR compliance without it (had i had the money i would of gone to court to prove the point) As for the clutch lever and bolt, I would of fought the point, that in no way has anything to do with the bike being road-worthy, what a bunch of absolute deckheds. Oh well at least it past second time round :) Iv'e seen the broadford bonanza is coming up soon, if i can i'll head down for it, would love to give the mini a run round the track, will bring the zx9 as well if i come :)

I noticed that PI has a free first-timer program (ontop of track entry) which I am keen on to get started. It's cheaper than going to Broadford and getting tuition and will help me get accustomed to the track.

PI would be awesome i reckon, would lov to do it one day. The broadford bonanza is a weekend event i believe, and suits all riders and bikes from what ive seen on the flyer, I think it was "ductiman" on here took a postie to it. Will try find some details and post back here.
 
Yeah had a look on the website, looks unreal! and pretty cheap for some track time.

If only I wasn't going away over the easter break :(

Will definitely go next year though.
