Hey guys.

I am thinking of getting a CRF50. How much money will it cost me to get some suspension suited for a 60 kilogram rider? For Jumps the size of ones on a 50 track or a bmx track.

thanks

could try some fastace gear, only cost you around 180 for the 58rc shock which is great got both rebound and compression adjustment, as for forks they all seem to be pretty expensive

sidney you will need:
A fork extender kit which includes 1" longer chromolly fork legs , extended cable and delrin fork bushings = $199 (oz50)
-Heavy duty fork springs for stock xr50/crf50 fork = $50 (oz50)
-15/20wt fork oil quality brand = $15

Rear shock
-Heavy duty shock spring = $50
or fox float mxr shock = $525 or Elka shock or Ishock etc etc

Where do you plan on putting that fork oil ? You have also no idea about a CRF50.

Sid,

Just a I-shock ($300), heavy front springs ($80) and derin bushes ($40) is all thats needed.

Little Rant: This thread really shows how clueless some of the members are and jump in with pointers , and they clearly don't know what they are on about but yet love replying and clocking up their post count.

just for my continued education can someone tell me why?? are CRF50s a dry fork?
dont get up me, ive just never dealt with one before

Yes CRF50 forks are not classed as suspension, only cushions.... but yeah u just run greese in side the forks

all you will need is the I-shock $300 Plus i know "Storm" make a complete front kit Fork legs,Springs, cable & bush's for about $280... i have one on mine..

CRF forks are 2 solid pipes with a spring mounting on either tube, which has a threaded end that bolts to the top clamp.. They are just little pogo sticks really , rather ruff ride but better than nothing.

If you check Two Brothers Racing instructions section it'll have picks of whats going on... or click this link http://www.twobros.com/Cust_Service/Install_Inst/010-6-30_Inst.pdf

so it is exactly the same idea as the Z50 forks, even looks to be the same legs and springs. cheers:)

I like that about the forks classed as cushions which is a fact!

Eichkay cheers for that , yes i may have been wrong thinking a standard fork on the crf50 could actually take oil (yes im an idiot as they have bushes rather than having a dust and oil seals in the fork cartridge) but i was not at all intending on posting for my own post count , mearly just trying to help Sidney out as I do have some minor understanding on the standard crf fork thus is why i stated the stock forks needed derlin bushes ,springs etc however I wasnt sure whether or not the forks took oil but thanks any way for pointing out the crf's internals only needed greace. You learn something new everyday ay
