This pit bike being my first four stroke, what's the best fuel to run in them?

I'm currently using 98 octane, will this harm these motors in any way over standard unleaded fuel?

Cheers,
Matt

I run premium and valve saver fluid , works realy well in all bikes

yes premium helps clean the engine out better than regular fuel

Anything but Shell Optimax.......

any premium will be fine but think bp has highest octane

i run ULP and bike did not ping/run hot at all. Dont think you need to run PULP unless youve got increased compression/ lean mixture/ ignition mods all leaning towards pinging.

shell is ok some premium petrols have injector cleaner and things mixed in to help lube the barrels .this can screw up your thumper completely(big ones anyway)

Why, wats up with Shell optimax?

It's made for fuel injected cars, the additives are for emmisions and fuel system longevity.........I race bikes, I used to race cars, trust me, I know................not think I know.

With so many fuels available why risk it..........Oh yeah; even Shell recomend you dont use Optimax in a bike.

But if you can get it 100 oct racing fuel is the way to go.

most likely cheaper and easyer to use 98 oct with the oct booster.

what does that mean? i have a stock xr50 that is soon to be 75cc's. will it make a difference to the performance?

it will feel smoother, but an a 75cc kited 50 booster won't make any diff. if you run a high compression piston it would.
