Got a bit of time to do some polishing this weekend..

Yeah, I had to cause I've only got a polishing wheel on the bench grinder. I needed to change the clutch adjuster screw anyway cos it was a bit torn up.

Fresh number plate graphics showed up today thanks to Justin from holeshotheros. I could only put the front plate on tonight cause I'm waiting for my new side plastics to come in tomorrow.

Oh man that looks so good!! Could you please give a rough idea of how to polish the casing like that?? What pads to use etc?

I just polished it on a bench grinder with a polishing wheel.

The kit I've got looks like this:

I just used some industrial strength paint stripped to get the original paint off. Use 400 - 800 - 1200 grit wet and dry sand paper, finishing up with fine steel wool. Use the dark polishing wheel with the stick of polishing compound and then use the wool wheel to finish it off. Hope this helps.

this thing is blingin! very nice. good to see people are making the effort to build 50s still. seems like everyone cant be bothered finding parts and just buy a china. where abouts are you from? need to get this to the mingn50s bikini bike wash show n shine day

Cheers mate, yeah I'm from Kurri.. I would have loved to of come but my wife is having a baby the day before the show n shine so I'm pretty sure its a no go.. Haha. I never intended for the bike to turn out like this but just got the mod bug and spent way to much cash on it.

It's half the fun of owning a mini, modding it..

Got some new red hose for the head breather, crankcase breather and carb overflow.. I have also been keeping my eye out on PM for a set of forks to finish it off but haven't came across anything yet..

im after some red hoses, were did you get yours from?
and what size filter are you running?

I just ordered it from a bloke in the uk on eBay. It's high temp silicon, I was going to use it as fuel line hose as well but I read on the net that it doesn't like fuel. I tested it myself and when I soaked it in fuel for a few hours it swelled slightly but went back to normal after it dried. Not sure what diameter the connector on the air filter is but it's the TB duel layer for the mikuni vm26.

ok kool because i want to get one of those outerwear things but on fasterminis it says fits stock 50 filter
but i am running a 38mm unifilter..
