I am tossing up between 2 bikes one has a 125cc lifan (start in any gear) and one has an oil cooled 138cc (start in any gear). How much better/faster is the 138 compared to the 125. Will i get blown away and be really disapointed if i go the smaller engine?

i dont think there is too much difference coz the 138s r only 127cc n normally the 125s r 124cc so not to much difference... i think lol

are the 138cc only 127cc farrk thats dumb so then why bother buying one??
cause i wanted to buy one an was willing to spend more money cause it has more cc's

no this isnt true, the ORIGINAL 138cc motors were only 127cc capacity, the more current 138cc engines are actually 137cc's as the stroke is 59mm and bore of 56mm. back to your question, there is a speed difference but its minimal. once again pending on the price difference i would much rather a 138 over your standard 125's because the possibility to get out more power from a 138cc is greater. it will all come down to cost but if there is only 100 - 200 difference i would seriously look into the 138's.

Cheers, Tony.

The 138 motors are 10% bigger than the 125's so it wouldn't be a great deal more, but remember alot of the 138's are steel bore which is heavy, and the 125's a mostly alloy bore so they are a lighter motor... So you might find that 10% means nothing when you compare the hp/weight...
