Hey guys,
im new to this posting thing, but ill give it a crack neway.
Firstly i ride a 2007 Atomik Avenger, i went for a ride just before and it didnt seem right. no matter what the surface i was riding on, it felt like the back end was sliding from side to side, similar to when you have a flat tyre. Checked The tyre and it was pumped, so i dont know wat the problem is. Please guys i needa get this fixed before i got to Broady this weekend.
Thanks Avenger_125

Check ya rear axle & also the swingarm bolt. Check the condition of your rear tyre, it may have broken the bead

hey mate have u checked the bearings and the spacers???

Wheel bearings, swingarm bearings. Possibly loose axle bolt..... Check for unusual free play.

bearings n spacers it the most common thing on any china bike to go...even if they arnt stuffed replace them lol i did :) good luck

Thanks for all the replies so far guys!
All the bolts are tight, the only thing i did find was when u lift the bike off the ground then drop it there is a bit of a knock and the swingarm kinda moves. What could this be?

put the bike up on a crate/stand etc and grab the swingarm/back wheel and see if you have any sideways movement, obviously you gonna have up/down movement but make sure its not side to side,

make sure the wheel is adjusted square, same distance from the tires edge to the swingarm on both sides,

The up and down movement would be the crappy bushes they use in the shock, provided the bolts are done up tight of course, I chewed the ones in my pitpro out in the first two hours of using the bike, they are a bitch to get out, but i manage to bash them out and replace them with bearings, much better. ;)

Go over the whole rear end with a spanner and make sure all the bolts are tight! My swingarm bolt came loose within a few hours of riding, the top and bottom shock bolts came loose, along with the bushes being chewed meant i had about an inch of vertical movement, rear axle done up tight? ect ect.

spin the wheel slowly and tap each spoke with a screwdriver, they should all make the same sort of sound, and they should be tight, if any of them make a dull thud, then they are probably loose, alot of loose spokes will allow the wheel to wallow around when force is applied to it, and they will eventually snap.

yeah the bolts are all tight so maybe it could be that. Where did you get the bearings from and how much. ill go check it out now!

I got the bearings a bearing shop in bayswater, any bearing shop should be able to get them for you, push out your old bushes and take them the bits so the can measure the ID and OD, i needed 6 bearings at about $5 a pop to fill the width top and bottom.

Thanks heaps for your help mate. i think that should fix it cos i just went out and checked and the play is from the bottom bolt on my shock. Just wana know now does anyone know of a shop that i can get bearings from around Bundoora area in Melb?

epping motorcycles might have em call them first

Might give it a go but dun think that they wuld no much bout atomiks let alone have spares/upgrades for them. Anyone else got any ideas?

or you could ring atomik and ask them they should definantly have the parts

Nah stuff atomik, there 2 far away from me. plus they would only have replacement parts, id prefer to upgrade rather than replace shit quality broken with shit qualuty parts that will break 1 ride later

Whilst atomik will have the bushes, ( pitpro offered me bushes for free) if they are anything like the pitpro ones they just don't last, it is a bitch to get them out as they are a press fit so for the effort involved you may as well just fit bearings and never have to worry about it again, however, whilst the bushes should be fixed, mine where noticable only when doing jumps or riding over rough ground, it was only a up and down movement, so your wobble is probably atrributed to something else.

Yeh sounds like i might jus change the bushes for bearings, the problem has only come up since the last time i went riding which was a broady and i was doin a fair bit of jumping. Il try and get it sorted and who knows it culd fix my problem.
