Forsure I'm thinking about extending the trip from 5 days to nearly two weeks.

Yeh just strip it down , seen it done a few times before. Chris Thomas did it.

should come under weight too because my snowboard **** was 60kgs and that gets through ok.

Or alternatively just turn up really late so they dont have time to weight in , done that before too.

Just pack smartly , like put heaps of **** into your hand lugage too

Forgot the company I work for a has very good rates with riteway transport, also getting a quote off bikes only.

It's done two weeks in newy over christmas and new year. In the process of hiring a ute now to.

If worse case scenario I'll do as you suggested unit.
