hi guys,

just got my hands on a new thumpstar today,im not familiar with the whole manual gears thing.Ok so heres my problem,it takes my ages to find gear 0 i then start up the bike but when i shift into another gear it stalls and turns off the engine then i would have to find gear 0 again which for some reason feels like it changes all the time. Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

Some of the china engines with a 1down3up trans can be pretty much imposible to get into N while the engine is running which the bike is stationary, i tended to find it easiest to get the N while rolling to a stop without even using the clutch ... But i never really used the clutch other than getting first gear moving then the rest of the up and down gear changes never used the clutch.

I think the easiest way to learn all this is for you to get a friend that knows how to ride a bike to show you the basics.

Thats what I did. I went from practicing a few times on a TTR 90 to a Honda 110cc postie bike to an atomik 125cc

Then I got my bike!
