oh really???

they still act as a dipstick? any links?

i had a look at the top of my motor and there is a small hose coming off the motor breathing to atmoshepre, that i could put a filter on!

i dont get wat there surpose to do can some one explain??

just helps the fumes and crap breath out of the motor better...

on cars the rocker cover has outlets for the motor the breath, but to be legal they go back into the intake. alot of people change this so they breath to atmosphere and flow better.

I am just curious as to whether its been done on the mini bikes?

ok i get it now, its been done by dabomb but dunno if he comes on this forum anymore

soz man cant find any pics but there where some just cant remember what thread it was an oil thing with a nos sticker.

yes it can be done on a mini bike but unless you have an extremely highly modded engine putting out huge power there wont be any point in getting one apart from bling factor as no performance gain will be gotten through one.

from what i know a oil catch can connects to were your dipstick is an it catches the excess oil so instead of dipping on the floor it catches in the can, motard use them so no oil falls onto the track making it slippery an the one that connects to the head is a vavle/engine breather it releases pressure in the head but like tubes said they are only really useful in high performance engines but i think even on a standard engine it gives you longer engine life

ive seen a few different set-ups of both one is that the valve breather hose an oil catch hose both connect to a catch can then the can has a breather hose that vents to the atmosphere an other set-ups ive seen are seperate

here is a link to a oil catch can i didnt really look i just did a ebay search cause i know ive seen a few on there

just had a look at my crankase...

and at the rear of the motor right next to the rear spring, there is a breather outlet with a long hose coming off breathing to atmosphere!

i was going to run a filter off of that, mainly for looks instead of the hose, but i cant get the filter through any of the gaps ANYWHERE!

does anyone know how i can get in there?

cheers

i just replaced the hose with a clear one and ran a fuel filter on it, now the hose runs up the frame under the seat where i have the filter hidden, stops the dirt getting into the gear case, case thats all it is just to let the gear case breathe.

yeah oxy is a good idea hay!!! :(

yeah might just exend the hosing and change it!

also why is there 2 fuel lines that are like breathers aswell?

cheers

i didnt even think of putting a filter on that hose,

i might change that hose to a longer one an run it under the seat an out the back beside my valve breather hose, i put a rc car filter on my valve breather hose but mud n **** was getting in so i put a fuel cap breather on it a nothing gets in now, so with the crank breather ill put a cap breather on it too an ill have too under the rear gaurd
