excuse the batterys as it was only a quick job!

how come it has a bit of a delay with it, like u had throttle on but it wasnt bar wasnt moving until u let the throttle go :?: :?:

hey

the needle wasnt moving because the bike was vibrating alot at the high rpm and decided 2 make my wire that pics up the rpm fall out of postion!

Im installing a 5" tacho with external shift light today!

The headlights are cool but the tacho is just stupid, it looks rediculous and who doesn't know when to change gears ?

i actually think its not stupid at all, otherwise sport bikes wouldn't have them , some people may want performance, and want to shift right on the redline, besides its good to know just how many revs your using nice work mate, please make a DIY tutorial, i will be copying you

Ok well it's still pointless, you may as well hookup a fridge and television while your at it.

These pitbikes have no redline, just because a car has a redline doesn't mean you can't rev further, unless it has a rev limiter of course. The manufacturer puts this redline on your tacho as a recommendation. And when you hook a tacho up to your pitbike it's not going to automatically flash the shift light on "the red line". You have to set the tacho to where you want the shift light to come on, so what is the recommended rpm for the pit bike ? Who knows?

But hey, it's something to do i guess. But you aren't going to get any more performance from your bike because you have a tacho designed for Fast and furious cars.

ur pointless u peice of ****.

U can use this to so where ur bike acheives the maximum rpm.

peace out.

Another frustrated little sh!t.

Read my edited post above, why do you need a tacho to achieve maximum rpm ? Connecting a tacho doesn't make your bike rev more, your tacho doesn't have the effect of a Racing CDI (this will make your maximum rpm higher).

And for a pit bike there is no recommended limit of where to rev to, the revs are limited by the CDI anyway to ensure you don't cause damage to your engine, not to say that this will 100% protect you from over revving, a tacho is not going to make your bike faster or perform better in anyway. the only thing it will do is show you how many revolutions per minute the crank is doing.

actually, i'm not going to argue, but there should be a "redline" just before you over rev your engine, usually about 8000k, i personally know i take my dirt bike to about there, but it sounds like its about to blow up, so i guess this will let me know where abouts it is on the scale, its not designed for the fast and the furious at all, maybe the bike 5inch ones with the shift light, when i mentioned redline i wasn't meaning the shift light, and i wasn't talking bout when the enginecuts out aswell, when you shift at the redline, your using the maximum power of that gear, you try reving your car over the redline and see if your speed goes up by much...either way i'm just here to prove my point, no evil intentions

Ok well fair enough, if you don't think you can shift gears competently without a tacho and shift light then it might be a good thing for you. But in reality the only thing it will do is slow you down because of the extra weight.

Yeh im agreeing with LOL

no s#!t , who doesnt know how to change gear....its just an indicator of how your bikes reving telling you specificaly what your reving at also what LOL said tell you before you overrev ya engine. my opionion.. :D pretty sweet mod man. looks like you know what your doing :) keep the good work up

Well i guess if you'd rather look at your fully sick tacho than watching where your riding, when driving a car how many people actually look at their tacho anyway ? Well most of you prob wouldn't know as you most likely don't have a licence yet but yeah when you know how to drive a car properly you dont use a tacho. And i do own a fast car, i have a 1996 BMW M3

honestly i think we both have a point here, its personal prefrence really, i honestly know when to shift aswell, listen to the engine, but i want to be as close as accurate as possible, at 8000k rpm this engine sounds like its going to explode, so yeah i'm going to do it, but yes it is personal prefrence,

well a 5 inch tacho and shiftlight on a motorbike is pretty stupid... but i like this 3 inch one.... i think its a good idea... people saying who needs a tacho and shiftlight... well if you have drivin a drag car then you would know that you dont have time to look at the rpm. so a light telling you your at maxium power is easyer then watching the tacho right up till you want to change.
