Hi guys I'm back to the real world today, thanks to everyone who wished up well for the wedding!!! I just realised I have the busted 3rd gear lifan 125 which is otherwise perfect. A big winch with 20m of cable would be nice to help with work since I work in the hills and constantly have to drag stuff up hills by hand, in a wheel barrow etc etc. Has anyone got any design ideas or seen something like this done before? Good or bad idea shouldn't be to much for the metal either except maybe the cable...how much do you think a lifan 125 could pull without poo-ing first or second gear?

Something like that would be awesome but WAY out of my pay grade!!! Ive seen an old chainsaw converted into a winch, the plus on the lifan is it has an inbuilt clutch already and would need to be light and portable enough. It would need to be anchored to something solid as a portable unit...and easy enough to get in and out of the Ute so 35-50kgs!! hang on ill see if I can find the vid of the chainsaw winch!!

Ah ok...do-able? No point in having it just taking up shed space...first and second are good on that motor!! Need to get a welder! Nothing on Friday if you're around home and not to busy I can come make a start on the tow hitch carrier
