HI All

I need some help PLEASE PLEASE.

I have a PITPRO 140 with IRK Kit installed.

Today i pulled my manafold off to clean all the dags of the inside.
Im running a 30mm Mikuni carb,i have just installed a 105 main jet and a .15 pilot jet.Clip position middle.I put it all back together with gaskets and sealent as to make sure everything was air tight. and started her up.
It was idling very fast, and back fireing when the bike was reved up FLAMES WHERE COMMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST and it sounded like crap. Also the the exhaust started to glow red hot.
I have the idle better now but the bike still sounds like crap and is still back fireing,FLAMES STILL PRESENT.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRICIATED

Regards

Marty

GRC Speed Racer. You have removed the inlet manifold and carby. Therefore the problem must be due to a gasket not sealing on the inlet manifold causing the bike to run lean !!!! Remove the manifold and check the gaskets carefully and re-assemble...Have a careful look at all the sealing faces on carby,Manifold,Plastic Insulator !!!!!

Problem sorted !!!????

Saw this post after your phone call this morning, did it solve the problem ??

If a bike is run for too long with this lean situation you risk burning out your Exhaust valve and destroying your Piston etc Not pretty !!!

Cheers brian

i bent a valve and had to get a new head lol so id be careful

That sounds about as lean as she gets, deff gasket. I would say not carb because you fitted larger jets. And yeah if you run your bike like this for too long there will be permanent damage on your exhaust valve, piston rings, piston, bore.... seize the whole thing........or just f*** it. Get it sussed before sittin there with it running going "what the"?? Cheers Chris
