see in my switch picture above,
see the metal slide contactor on the back of the red kill switch?
all it needs to do, to kill the engine, is to join the wire from the cdi (black w/white on your loom) to an earth.
so when the switch/metal strip is moved to the right, the cdi kill wire is earthed.

Hmmm I see. Well im not sure if thats the problem then.... as it still wont turn over..... ahhhh hate this stuff!

Could the cdi cause it to not crank? Maybe it go shorted out?

so is there 12v + going into, and out of the start button ? (coming out only when the button is pressed)
this switched positve power wire then goes to the small wire from the starter solenoid, the other small wire goes to earth.

here is a diagram that may help

can you trace the wiring from the battery to the igniton switch, check for power/in power out at each component
use the diagram above

Yeah has fuse. Its fine. And the key switch seems to work as it wont turn over unless the key is on.

Il do what u said and get back to u.

Thanks for the help

worst case,
run a fused (5A) wire from the + battery terminal to one terminal of a momentary on push button switch,
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SP0716
then from the other terminal on the switch, to the small/thin wire at the starter solenoid
the other small wire from the solenoid then goes to earth.

I bridged a power wire to the kill switch. So now that has power. Next was the start button. Now so I bridged power to that. But now as soon as I turn the ignition key on it cranks over without even pressing the button......

bridged a power wire to the kill switch ? why ?
when the kill switch is on kill, it earths out the cdi.

so there is power going to the start button now,
it should only send power to the starter solenoid when you press the start button.

Ahhhk :/ confused myself...

Well il fix the kill start.

Is the start button ment to get power from the battery?? Because before I connected power to it, it didnt connect to power anywere..... very confusing

yeah the start button should only get power to one side of it, and only when the ignition is turned on.
and yeah, the power comes from the battery.

Well heres the problem. As soon as I connect power to it and put the battery terminals on it automatically cranks... without even pressings the button. And that's with the key on and off.

so, for some reason there is power coming from the start button all the time ? instead of momentary.

All good now. Sorted it out. One of the stupid safeguards wasn't getting power ahhhh silly mistake.

Thanks for all ur help mate.
