The 2006 complianced monkey bikes are road legal throughout Australia but cost over $2000- . These have disk brakes, better forks, tyres, etc. than the "normal z50 ripoffs" which can be purchased for approx $650 thru Ebay.

I would prefer to spend similar money on a original Z50 than a chineese copy.

A good way to get on the road is to find a Z50J frame with a compliance plate on it and then build the rest of the bike from there with whatever parts you want,..
