theres only two wires comming out of the engine right? there shouldnt be any power between the two wires, one is power and the other is the ignition signal. the IRK earths through the engine itself (where the stock magneto has a green earth wire comming out to the cdi) so clip the test light to the engine or the frame if you werent already... but even if there you cant see any juice, wire up the CDI and kick her over before posting again ;)
 
when you fit an irk, you have to have a lightened oil slinger am i right. First how do i get a lightened oil slinger? can i lighten it myself? if not where and how much will it cost me? any help guys gonna fit it to a 140cc lifan.
 
yeah i wanna know too cause i just brought a irk so do i need a lightened oil slinger???
thumpy ive seen some on ebay have a look i think they go for about 40bucks
 
ive heard you shouldnt get a lightened oil slinger if you go the IRK?? lose too much weight off the crank?

i think its only non start in any gear engines that need to remove weight from the clutch assembly when removing weight from the flywheel to keep the crank alive.. could be wrong
 
yeah i don't know there are so many ideas floating around i've heard people say there fine and others say they are like a grenade and can blow without warning so i might ask around and see what i can find out i'll let yas know the truth soon. hopefully.
 
a mechanic just told me you need a lighter slinger with the IRK.... fair enough
 
only the spelling

i put mine on today, if you got one make sure the screws on the stator and ignition pickup are on tight! they have split washers on but they are done up sooo softly they come undone with no force at all.. my old irk was fuct because of them falling out

i put loctite on mine then did them up real tight - make sure the stator isnt grinding on the new flywheel when you do it up too

yeah the irk has adjustable timming speaking of timing ninetysix can you show me a pic of were your timming is cause im not %100 sure mines right an if i can see a pick ill know were to set it
 
Yeah i noticed the ignition pickup can slide up and down... currently i think its pushed all the way towards the top of the motor... would that be at the most retarded setting? ill have to double check it when i can be fuct ;)
