Im getting a yx140 for my bike that im building
does anyone have one?

what kind of vid? riding? youtube atomik nitrous 140 or pitpro 140

I've got one it's a good motor, only thing I hate about it is the crap stator they chucked in them when they realized IRK's suck, if you're gonna get a yx140 you should get on ORK for it, and if you wanna run lights you'll at least need a lifan 140 stator. But yea the yx140 is much more solid than a lifan140 (which I also own)
 
How much power does it have compared to a normal 125? or a lifan 140?
 
it should pull pritty hard my mates got pritty much the same bike with a 125 and for a 125 and the bike its still goes pritty good, i rekon a 140 would be good power
 
the main difference between 125 and 140 is the torque, I don't think there's a huge difference but it's lot more lively the 125 is very smooth and mild power.
the oko flatty really wakes it up stay away from the molkt rubbish that's no fun
 
Yeah the engine is the one from ebay second generation with the lower compression it has less problems with kick starting and stripping gears...it also has a Z-40 Engine Upgrade Kit Installed (cam shaft,cam sprocket, valve springs)...ill get the oko from dhz if you are that keen on it...also need some rim locks and bits and peices like chain tensioners then it will be finished :D
 
is that the one from JustRide? there's a guy on here that got one of them and they completely stuffed up the cam installation and the cam sprocket bolts came loose. He lunched his motor and I haven't heard back from him if JustRide have sorted the issue.
 
yea the z40 is meant to be a ripper of a cam and that engine is a great deal, but it still seems to have the rubbish rotor setup so you'll need to upgrade it if you wanna run lights
 
Yea ill just change that so i can run lights i just need a flywheel remover tool?

That pipe is for a normal honda style engine though not a klx, i have seen em though...

Yeah whats the best place to get stuff like levers, 1/4 throttle, gear levers, kick started just little crap like that?
 
yx140 didnt really have any troubles with kick starting..(split cases and kick start gears)
and pulling compression out of an engine with a larger cam is crazy...it decreases the performance...so chances are it will be slower than the same engine with a standard cam.

i think the better engine to go for now days is the zonger 140 from DHZ..

edit..
just noticed they advertise then to have 8.8:1 compression. that is definitely a big step backward in performance..
