Everone has their own experiences good and bad, with parts and bikes. Depends how hard you use something.

Theres always someone that has had a bad experience with either a part or bike, then you have the complete opposite. :)

no i think its more a preference thing but some people think there dimensions are bad, iv always thought to do what TyD said...

Okay just ordered the Red Baron BMX bar kit, Pro taper grips, bash plate and some heavy duty fork springs! :D

Cant wait!

It was on sale, I just got lucky that i rang up the bike shop when i did.

Only got this one from its trip down the coast on the weekend.

50cc vs 1420cc haha

will be updated with some proper pics on the weekend when the bars and stuff are installed.

No probs mate, i'll let you know when i've taken it off.

hey man when you get your bar kit, check that there are no gaps where the throttle cable seats into the billet carb cap. I had idling and running issues and it was because of a poor fit into the carb cap seat, was letting air in, but once i sealed it up (just with electrical tape to make a snug fit) it was sweet. other than that the kit is pretty good.

Thanks for that man, i'll definitely check that out before i put it on.

Hmm so heres some graphics that i had for the blue bike.

i'm undecided if i want to put them on or not. the rear quarters are on white plastics and look a little bit tacky.

heres some pics, what are peoples opinions?

it will have a black front fender as well, i just couldn't be bothered taking it off for the pics.

ive always like sik 50s graphics and proper printed race numbers too just to finish it off. if you have a look at Tomy's CRF50 88 Limited Build... thats a great example of how you could get it looking!!!! good to see another honda build though

So on friday my packages arrived.

Red baron BMX bar kit, Red baron heavy duty fork springs, Pro taper grips and a bash plate from DHZ

So on saturday i installed the bar kit, grips and fork springs (yet to install bash gaurd)
everything went fairly smoothly just a bit of mucking around getting the old springs off the end bits. and some mucking around with the cables.

Took it for a ride on sunday to test it all out, and everything was good, really impressed with the bars and fork springs seemed like a good value for money mod.

Sorry about the crappy pic.

Somehow managed to bend the shifter on a rock or something. so now to decide which shifter i should buy. Anyone had any experience with aftermarket shifters?

Doesnt look bad in the photo but its bent back pretty far.

Good to see that this build is coming along nicely. :) Redbaron bars are looking good too.

That shifter would easily bend back just chuck it in a vice and bend it back with a metal pole.

Also think about taking off that chain protector. Looks kinda huge.

looking good ,if ya want to use ya front #plate ya can just fold the big flap bit behind plate and tuck it in under the bolts for ya bar clamp, holds in good :)
Not sure if ya knew what to do there?

Yeah i hadnt got around to putting but the number plate back on yet, but thanks for the tip i just put it on then and it works a treat.

and i straightened the shifter out with the end of a spanner.

Nice mate! Looking the Goods :D Such a CLEAN Stocker is making me want one ASAP! Soon to come haha

With the Shifter...Id recommend the Higher Priced Fast50s Shifters, the one I run on my 88 is Perfect! But they are a little pricey...its a good idea to Upgrade as well because the Stock ones are so short haha. Also some Mods you should next think about:

- HD Pegs/Pegmount
- Extended Brake Pedal
- High Seat (if you prefer)

But looking Great! Keep throwing money at it hahaha, you will LOVE it!

Heres a pic thats a little bit better, now with the number plate on and HD pegs :)

where did you other guys put your throttle cable to get it out of the way?

also now to decide on which shock i want to run.

run it through the bars dude.. Like under the bar pad. She looks good.

Looking mint. :)

Haha spending money on bikes, is so fun, my bikes plans started by me and a mate decided to clean it and then it all went from there, and now its fully tricked out.

Keep us posted. :)
