Clutch issues on pitbike

So I've never rode a dirt bike or pit bike so I'm super new to all this. But I was given a pit bike that markings indicate it's a pitster pro 120cm3 I'm not sure what it is but I had to find out the hard way that when I start it and pull the clutch lever in and shift it down into gear that the bike should still be in a neutral position but instead the bike jumps and takes off as the wheel starts moving with clutch still pulled in all the way. Can anyone give me insight?

Is the clutch lever actuating the lever on the motor?

I have since adjusted everything and it's a fix and now I'm back on the hunt of finding out details on the model of bike and trying to find out just modern knowledge. It supposedly is bored out also but not sure what that means or how to find out. Thanks for replying
